My D26 was accepted! We were surprised because we thought decisions came out 12/20. She is in-state, 4.3 GPA, 9 APs, 1510 SAT, 35 ACT. She was very worried because she was deferred by UGA just the other day. Happy day today ![]()
Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone received Assured Admission to Kenan-Flagler Business School with their EA decision?
Applied but do not think he got it. If you hear of anyone, will you update the thread? Would be interested to know if those decisions have for sure been released yet. I will do the same. Thanks!
S26 just got accepted. So happy for him! 4.5 gpa / 36 act / nms / 5 AP with 5’s on all of them.
Congrates!! my S26 was rejected. in-state 4.4 GPA, 11 AP+ honors, 35 ACT, AP Subject tests all 4 or above. Excellent ECS. Not sure why his was rejected. Can we ask for their feedback?
S26 was accepted! (Stats: STEM major; in-state 4.26/4.33 unweighted GPA; 11 APs [All 5s, except one 4] + honors; 1600 SAT; very solid STEM and Humanities ECs/awards/summer programs; large metro area); no news +/- re Honors Carolina
She’s heard from other EA schools who released in Nov / Dec. She’ll hear from UNC in Feb since she’s OOS.
Accepted

Assured Admit Business School. Very fortunate but will accept ED Duke.
Yes.
I read this a lot. What does S26 mean?
Son graduating high school in 2026. D26 is daughter.
It was a headscratcher for me, too.
I guess DD/DS isn’t prevalent in these academic-type posts! ![]()
They won’t give feedback, but it was likely essays or letters of rec since the stats are so strong. Unless they’re Wake Co?
I thought they accepted or waitlisted at this stage… In any event, I hope your kid gets in next round.
Here is the article someone referenced earlier. They did do assured admit for nursing, business, and others. It does not say if anymore will be extended later or not. Just putting this on here for folks to see the numbers. It does not mention honors so not sure about that.
No, UNC accepts, denies, or waitlists.
FWIW, we knew people two years ago who were waitlisted and then accepted RD. It is rare, but it does happen.
Honors is offered at acceptance, not later.
Pro tip - student can apply for honors again second semester or first semester sophomore year. They take 50 more students each of those times.
Has this been confirmed for the new process?
I do not think his essays. Since we can not see recs there is no way to comment otherthan saying we trust our teachers when they recommend.
S26 is admitted! In-state, 3.96 UW/4.47 W, 5 APs+4 DE (the rest were honors), private school no rank, test opt, unique ECs, excellent essays. This was his first choice and he is so excited!!
