This is really helpful. My OOS DD was also deferred. She need junior year with all As but will likely end first semester senior year with 2 Bs. Concerned about flagging that for RD.
Are her B’s in AP courses and is her schedule rigorous?
She’s taking 5 AP classes this year for a total of 11. The Bs are in math and science and she is NOT a STEM major!
And her FCPS HS has a “rolling grade book” - mid year grades are a snapshot of where the student is mid year but final grades are calculated based on the full year of assignments plus a final exam/project.
My daughter is going to self report but semester ends 1/29 and those grades should be better than her quarter or current grades (ever so slightly) - one B instead of 2, I hope. So for us, it makes sense to report right before the deadline. I do think UGA also will get send the official grades. She will self report semester grades and hope they’re accurate and will maybe write as of 1/28
Hi! I was accepted to UGA EA instate back in November. I was not auto-admitted to the honors college, but I did receive the presidential leadership scholarship. On Friday, I received an email from Morehead telling me that my honors portal had been updated. I was accepted into the Honors College! I am very excited about this news, but I am confused why I was offered admission on such a random date. I completed my honors college application back in November FYI and was expecting to hear about Morehead in March. Does anybody have any insight of why I may have been accepted out of the blue? Thank you!
Congratulations. That’s great .
- January 15 – Honors application deadline.
For those instate or out of state, who were not auto admitted, had honors application deadline. Looks like UGA will roll honors notifications soon. Good luck to you as gain
My daughter’s Honors College acceptance last year was also on a random day in January. I’d guess it’s normal.
per UGA website
The Honors College Application
Early Action applicants who are not automatically accepted into Honors must fill out a supplemental Honors College application to be considered for Honors acceptance. All Regular Decision applicants are also required to fill out an Honors College application for consideration. This application opens September 1 and closes January 15.
The spring Honors decision release will occur in two waves, with decision releases typically taking place on Friday afternoons. The first wave of spring decisions will be released in January, and the second and final wave will be released in mid-March.
there is no date. Seems like it is a random Friday in Jan and Mar
Will AO trickle out acceptances for those “deferred to 2/15” or will they wait and release on 2/15?
I thought I read that all deferred will come out with RD in mid-late March. Where did you see 2/15?
Deferred decisions will be mid- to late-March per the Admissions blog.
My bad it is mid march so long of a wait!
Anyone have any reliable le info re: how many of these deferred kids have a shot at admission in RD?
Did you fill out the update form? If so, what happens in the portal now if you go in and click on DISPLAY?
Can you tell me in the portal what happens when you click on DISPLAY next to the application update?
I’m having my student check his portal tonight and I’ll let you know
It says the deadline has passed
