Thank you!!!
Any newly accepted Foundation Fellows or parents here? My student is a current freshman, and I think there are a few other Fellow parents lurking as well. I am happy to chat privately with anyone whose student has decided or is still weighing options!
Not a current UGA FF student parent, but friendâs kid got into the program this year as a sophmore, and my kid got FF in 2023 as incoming freshman - what questions do you have?
Sorry, maybe I wasnât clear enough. Iâm a parent of a current Fellow, and would be happy to chat with any of the incoming or still on the fence families/students.
Should we expect the March HC decisions (for EA students) to come out at the same time as the RD decisions?
Yes, all decisions for freshman applicants, whether RD or deferred EA, should be released on 3/14.
Iâm specifically asking about the honors college. My DC was admitted EA, but was not auto-admitted to the HC. They submitted the application after being accepted to UGA.
The final wave of Honors College acceptances goes out in mid-March, but they do not provide a specific date. UGA is on spring break next week, so decisions probably wonât go out before March 10.
Today, D25 received link to apply to FRC. Does that mean honors admission is redirected/rejected?
We are one of the students who was deferred from EAâcan anyone who was admitted tell me if there are any admitted student days scheduled/available around March 20? We are already in the âareaâ for another tour and in the off chance he gets accepted next week, I was wondering if visiting could be done. Visiting feels almost as expensive as tuition!
Sorry! I was active on 22 threads at once and gave you the TCU dates.
Thank you so much!
There is one on March 20 as well. Not sure if it is âsold outâ or not.
In addition to the New Dawg events, they have a daily (M-F) Admitted Student Campus Visit Experience.
"If you are unable to attend a New Dawgs or sessions are at capacity, please consider joining us for an Admitted Student Campus Visit Experience.
This is tailored to meet the needs of admitted students and will last approximately two hours consisting of a brief presentation, followed by a 90-minute combined bus and walking tour of campus led by a current student Tour Leader. Our Admitted Student Campus Visit Experience is limited to one student and no more than 3 additional guests."
Franklin Residential College and Honors are completely unrelated. Students can be members of both.
FRCâs home, Rutherford, is a gorgeous dorm, and FRC activities look like a lot of fun (see Instagram). If my Honors student hadnât been required by her program to live in a specific dorm freshman year, she would have applied to FRC.
Definitely visit whenever it is convenient! We did that, and it was perfect. We stayed in the on campus Georgia Center hotel, which was super convenient. The regular tour was great. My daughter contacted a few professors directly (by email) to ask if she could sit in on specific classes that she selected after looking at the online course schedule. She also emailed the administrative assistant for her major department, who arranged for her to have lunch with a student ambassador.
Anyone get a notification or do we just log in?
You just login. If you havenât checked in like 25 or 30 minutes, theyâll send you a notification that you have a decision in your portal.
Ok cool. Waiting on my child to check!
