Anyone know if a deferral means you go back into the regular decision pool and will know sometime in…Feb? March? Longer? I want to hope for a deferral rather than a deny for my OOS son but of course that just drags this process out even longer. Thanks and good luck today!
Yes, means the final decision comes when RD is released. That’s usually mid-March.
Latest blog for EA just got posted…23% OOS acceptance for EA…yikes
Best of luck to all awaiting decisions.
Yes, I believe they eliminated the February decision date they used to have (basically very high stat regular decision applicants not deferrals) several years ago when applications started to explode, so anyone deferred will hear with regular decision applicants.
Planning to keep myself busy until they release! Good luck everyone!
Dec 6th post of overall EA admissions. Notes for OOS EA also is here
It was low last year as well. And of that low percentage I believe 7% enrolled with my OOS DD (current freshman). I will add again, in her words “Georgia is the best thing to ever happen to me, This is a dream I never imagined it could be”. As parents, we are in love with UGA and everything it brings for our child.
Best of luck to everyone. Stay patient even if you are deferred. Go through the entire process and wait until March. It is a special place and worth the wait and agony! Go Dawgs!
Accepted w/Honors!
1510/4.5UGA GPA/9APs
Accepted with a $10K scholarship but no honors college.
Does it say anything about the HC? DC was accepted with the scholarship, as well, but I don’t see any other info. Do they only mention it if you are admitted?
OOS Accepted with classic scholarship (1/2 tuition waiver) of $10K
4.3 UGA GPA, 13 AP/DE, 32 ACT
Go DAWGS!
He didn’t see anything on the acceptance about HC, just the scholarship. I was a little surprised since he got the scholarship.
OOS, deferred EA. Now the next wait begins.
Same. Accepted with Classic Scholarship - no word about any auto-admit to honors college. But for in-state it seemed like there was still the option to apply to the HC (which required an additional essay).
Is that something they send later?
There are automatic admissions for some students to the honors college. If you’re not automatically admitted, you have to submit a separate application available on the honors college page. Typically that is due in early February. If you don’t get in either of those times, you can apply again after your first semester at UGA.
Yeah at least for me my acceptance letter said “You’ve also been admitted to the Honors College”, but there is a separate application you can fill out, too.
Accepted w 10k scholarship. Not sure of UGA gpa but 4.0 uw/ 5.2 weighted. 34 act. 10 DE&AP.
D25 from PA. Accepted to Frankin Arts. There are no HC updates, still shows awaiting decision. And, no Scholarship. Good luck to all.
