Hi,
I am considering applying to the University of Oregon. I have a 3.85ish unweighted GPA, have to run the calculation again after my dual enrollment class I took, and approximately a 4.3 weighted uncapped. Also will have 11 APs and approved honors courses completed by the end of this year. 5 years of Math. No SAT or ACT to submit. I do have Senior Class President, ASB Clubs Commissioner (over 100 clubs to manage), US Congressman’s Student leadership Council, California Boys and Girls State-Elected to Assembly, Varsity lacrosse multiple years, US naval Academy Summer Stem leadership award, and a bunch of other items to list on the app. I will be applying for Political Science potentially. Any thoughts on my prospects? I am considering this, Oregon State, which is part of WUE and University of Colorado Boulder as well as UCs and some other publics. Thanks

Does anyone know what the soonest people have heard back from in years past and what sort of stats and SAT scores do you need to get the highest out of state scholarship?

anyone hear anything yet? i think in the past they have released some decisions on the early side–almost rolling nature.

Are we missing something? Does Oregon not request letters of rec or school profile this year? In the portal it just asked for STARS record and that is complete. No other forms under that.

not to my knowledge. just STARS

We checked the website again, and it does seem that way.

The Common App shows that LORs can be submitted, they are optional though.

Last year a little later in the season I had clients that heard back within a couple weeks for EA. This early may take a little longer.

You will be fine with those stats

Do you know what stats are required for the biggest merit scholarship? My son has a 1450 SAT and a 4.59 waited GPA our school does not report unweighted.

Can anyone see lot or sat scores on the portal? My son sent but we can not see

We had this problem and emailed the admissions counselor to ask. It turns out that my child had mistakenly checked test optional on his application. The admissions counselor confirmed that they do have his scores on file if he wants to make the change from test optional in his application.

So that’s one possibility. But they also just might be running a little behind with all of the application materials that they are receiving.

I would recommend reaching out to the admissions counselor. It took a few days to receive a response, but the response was very thorough and she had clearly taken the time to look at his application in detail before responding.

Thanks will do

Was it the box that they say check here to acknowledge that Oregon will do whatever with your SAT scores? He did click that thinking that it was just a general acknowledgment. Everyone had to click. The wording was very confusing. It’s not like it said I want to apply test optional.

I’m not sure. Sorry! I only saw the admission officer’s response which said that he had indicated test optional on the common app.

Not to get into whether the scores are there or not, but to note it’s REALLY early for UO and any west coast school. They literally just started classes for fall term Monday. As AOs and others get into the office post-summer (which was last week for them) they may clean a lot of this stuff up. Sometimes West coast dates can be confusing for those who started school in August.

You were right! He did the same thing. The question was wired strangely- like you had to check it. But the AO said they don’t use sat scores for scholarships anyway
