University of Pittsburgh Class of 2029 Official RD Thread

I guess writing on this thread was good luck, because I was just accepted! For a data point, this was Dietrich English Writing. 3.96 unweighted GPA, test optional, Out-of-state. Submitted via Common App, application complete date 9/18. Accepted 10/17.

My daughter was accepted to the school of Nursing last night, which marked 10 weeks since her application was complete.

What was the date everything was marked as received? My daughter applied for nursing August 1st…but it says they did not have the SRAR until the 12th. We are 12 weeks from when she applied initially and Monday will be 10 weeks from receipt of the SRAR. It’s good to hear that there is still a possible positive outcome!

Still waiting - marked complete Aug 16th.

That is exactly my daughter’s timeline. She applied on August 1st and SRAR on the 12th. We are out of state and her UW gpa is 3.95. She has one honors class and 3 APS and college prep for everything else. She is a varsity athlete in 2 sports, has a job, and is an active participant in a few clubs. In other words, she is an average 17 year old who has a good academic to life balance.

@croixkring have you called admissions to check that there isn’t an issue? With an 8/1 application date, I would think you would have heard by now. What do your stats look like?

Argh! My son applied to Swanson for Mech Engineering on August 3. His file was marked under review on August 12. His stats are SATs: mid-1500s; GPA: 4.4+/3.9+; 10 APs; excellent ECs; everything else in order. It’s been 9.5 weeks. He sent in an inquiry earlier this week and received a generic reply today that, due to the influx of applications, it could take 4-6 more weeks. I don’t think the correspondent even looked at his file. I think he will have to call next week or have his counselor call. Given the quicker turnarounds for Swanson that I’ve seen on this thread, it seems as if his application somehow got lost in the shuffle.

Thank you for posting. Also got a generic reply with not much information when inquired so thank you for sharing the additional details. Good luck!

I applied 8/10 and went under review 8/19 and still haven’t heard back as well :frowning: I’m not letting it diminish my hope though! They are not going in order, but rather by randomly choosing to send a mass amount of applications from one school in one night, so that eased my nerves a little. I applied to Dietrich so they have a lot of applicants to review, and I may just be mixed into the pool. In general though to anyone wondering- if they don’t respond after 12-14 weeks, maybe sending an email would be good? Not a passive aggressive one, but just one letting admissions know when you sent it/how long you’ve waited, and asking if they have all the information they need.

3.9, Honors and APs, test optional, application submitted 8/1 fully received by 8/5, so it couldn’t be any more early.

And yes, I think we need to call admissions and check. Plan to do this on Monday.

Same situation here. Changed to Awaiting materials after 2.5 weeks under review. The admission committee wants to see the mid year report. At least some hope left but disappointing. Sometimes it is better to get an no and move on to others. Pitt was also my kids top choice

Really? They want to see mid year reviews? But they did give you a response? That is frustrating! Good luck, yes, this was my kid’s top choice too!

I share your disappointment. The one silver lining is its keeping the senioritis from kicking in too early :-). Can I ask what major? My son applied Business and TO.

Have any accepted students received merit aid letters yet?

Looks like just a few so far, but yes:
