I think it is impossible to know. Our NJ high school had over 40 students apply - I haven’t heard of anyone that got in- mostly waitlist.
same… so strange! Maybe they are expecting many to move from wait-list to accepted before sharing stats!!!
Do we thing kids get off waitlist before mid may?
Anyone hear from Capstone just yet? Thinking it is sometime this week.
My daughter emailed them and they said it would be “in the next week or so.” I wish they would just give a specific date.
Do you apply for Capstone?
From my experience this year with my daughter, better to apply to as many early applications as possible. I don’t think my daughter would have done as well OOS in the SEC if she had not applied EA/Priority to them. 31 ACT, 1410 SAT, no leadership, nothing spectacular EA wise, school doesn’t rank. 3 DE’s 5 AP’s and some AICE. GPA 3.8. Got EA into Clemson, UGA, Carolina, FSU, UF, UCF, some privates, Alabama, deferred at U of Miami, rejected GA Tech, OSU, Case. Good luck!
When you apply for admission, they consider you for Capstone. They say that the invited students will be notified in March but no date. Thinking sometime this week but will see!
Accepted OOS, but no mention of merit. I know its supposed to come mid-March. Nervous we wont get anything. My daughter has a 98 average, anyone have any insight? This is one of our top choices but won’t be able to swing full OOS pricing
My daughter just received her merit information. Check the portal.
So did my daughter.
Got ~$5200 off OOS tuition per year plus $500 one time
Glad that I understood that they only give 1 $8,000 alumni scholarship. Tons of kids will have the stats and not get that amount. My kiddo got in-state plus $2,000.
@Rich_D_NY Check the portal under Scholarship Information. Just came out.
Do we know if HC kids get more merit money, or is what is offered today the extent of the scholarship offer from USC? Asking as there was wording in the HC admission letter saying more scholarship $ was coming, but unclear if this is included in what she got today or is in addition to it and we will be hearing about that separately? She did email her admissions counselor about this as we were thinking, based on stats, she might be at a higher level.
Also, she applied for departmental scholarships so maybe one of those will come through in April.
Got our merit as well. For families next year. My D was accepted into Honors College in December with an award stated of at least $90,000. That is the final amount offered in March. In-state plus $500/year. Was honestly hoping for a little more to really seal the deal and bring the costs down to our in-state NC options. It is still a very generous offer, the most generous large state school of my daughter’s options. Good luck to everyone! One other thing for future families after this whole experience. It’s a good idea to save hard copies of all the portal acceptance letters because the portals are updated and sometimes things are taken away and new things added. It’s nice to have a physical copy to ensure that there are no mix-ups.
Anyone heard about Capstone?
I had to go back and find the SC Honors College letter, I saved a PDF to my PC, both original acceptance letters are now gone in the portal and replaced with the new scholarship letter. The original HC letter says, “be sure to watch out for your scholarship in March.” While the regular university acceptance letter has wording that says “the value of your scholarship is worth at least $…” to be awarded in March. I agree that they word it in such a way to possibly expect more than what is listed, and I think in some occasions, that does happen, but it sounds like that’s the exception, not the rule. We were hoping for a little more. I think what just came out in the portal is final merit awards(not including financial aid), but it’s my first kid going through this process so I could be wrong.
My daughter just received Capstone decision.
We JUST received an email to check our portal and our merit is in there . Give it a look .
