Some in-state students heard in November last year. My son was OOS, and on Dec 12, we got an email that EA decisions would be out on the 17th. They came out about 4:30 EST.
To submit 1250 SAT or go test optional??
D26 is applying for sports and entertainment management, so not as hard as some of the other majors. 3.75 UW, 4.0 W (not sure about the recalc USC GPA). Strong essay, Captain 2 yrs of 2x state champion sport,NHS, Key Club, job, typical volunteering.
1260 was the bottom of the 50% median last year. She needs merit to attendâŠ.
S26 submitted EA a few weeks ago and shortly after got email inviting to apply to honors college. Does everyone get this so they get more apps and look more competitive? Or is this considered a good sign?
My son was invited to honors as well. I wonder the same as you. Is everyone invited?
My S25 applied EA for Engineering with a 3.8UW, 35 ACT - invited to apply for Honors College and was deferred. He did get in regular decision but I donât think that invitation means anything in terms of EA acceptance.
Instate weighted 4.35UW 3.67 6 honors courses and 18 college credits from 6 Dual enrollments. Strong EA , varsity athlete 4 years, started own online business. Sport management
35 ACT and was deferred? Wow! Makes me nervous for my son.
Did he apply to Honors College? My daughter doesnât want to apply, but I wonder if not applying after being invited could negatively affect the admissions decision.
He got in regular decision but I think Engineering made it especially difficult. Good luck to your son!
He didnât but I donât think it makes a difference at all. They defer a huge percentage for EA that get in RD.
Thank you! He is applying for business so I think that is fairly competitive too!
I read they send to everyone who checks the box that they are interested in it. Donât know if thatâs true
My daughter is applying test optional with a 4.34 W GPA and 3.97 UW GPA to the business school. She is also the president of students against cancer, secretary of NHS, and photo editor of the yearbook. What are her chances of being admitted into the business school as well as the honors college as an out of state student?
For reference, for Fall 25, my OOS son had 4.37 WGPA (3.98 u/w GPA; 4.75 SC WGPA), 11 APs and 2 DE classes, and a 32 ACT. He was admitted EA to Darla Moore with merit. However, he was denied from the Honors College. I think your daughter has a good chance, but the TO may defer her decision to the spring. I canât remember how TO students did EA last year, but there were a lot of deferrals in general.
