yes, he’s a 2024 grad. my 2026 daughter was offered 44k. she has higher stats. the applicant pool has grown and must be more competitive!
Accepted OOS engineering. $100k in merit. We are over the moon!
good to know. Hope my child still has a chance.
Congrates!! great accomplishment. May I know which program it is?
thank you, do you think there is any chance they increase it if people above her don’t accept?
do you all believe I will get in RD with a 3.73 gpa, 4.04 weighted, summer start and early education also In an area where they do have not many people go to South Carolina.
in the past few years, the letters have said ‘at least x amount’. Yes, I do believe that others have gotten more later, but it’s in on way guaranteed.
When do honors college notifications occur?
She applied for electrical engineering. Hoping for a few more acceptances, but lots of decisions to be made.
Mid-February, according to our letter
My daughter was accepted as well to college of engineering/computer science with an integrated information technology major. She did get the $11,000/year merit award as well. Stats are 4.0 UW/4.35 W (no idea what the SC GPA is), 1400 SAT, 4year varsity/6 year national club athlete, all state team, captain of both, student council president, part time job, other ec’s/volunteer work. She is extremely lucky in this application cycle to get into SC, UTK, Auburn, and Clemson when so many qualified kids were deferred. She was deferred at UGA and Notre Dame and still waiting for VT, NC State, IU Bloomington, and FSU.
It’s funny how so many of us are overlapping with so many schools. My daughter, applied to South Carolina, UTK, UGA, Indiana, and FSU as well (among other safeties).
Congrates!! what is your in-state colleges
How do you choose summer start?
If the merit you received was less than the difference between OOS and In-State tuition AND you get into the honors college, it will likely go up to at least having OOS tuition waved.
My daughter (this is from 2 years ago) got the “at least $40k” message (what is likely the ‘at least $44k’ message now). When she got into the honors college, it was raised to the Superlative award. Others who were not told of any merit received scholarships in Feb/March. It definitely happens.
