Did anyone deferred and complete the fafsa not get it?
Last year, everyone who completed the FAFSA and listed USC got it. Wasn’t a “tell”
Edited- 2/27 looks like release of RD and deferred, per email sent today around 5p
got to think RD and deferreds hear so soon in first 1-2 weeks of March; Clemson already has, TN 3/9, GA 3/6, FL 3/13 ish.
Bring on the March luck! (And well earned success)
It didn’t impact us and we got more than expected even after enrolling.
Yesterday daughter had a VIP ID as well as a USC ID under Application details on the portal. We didn’t know when those were added, and today they are gone again. Did anyone else see this and know what they are?
My son’s are missing on the “main” portal, also. But, they are still there on the “backdoor” portal. Last year we tried like crazy to figure it all out and almost droves ourselves insane. LOL
What’s a back door portal
Last year there was SO much discussion about the VIP and SC numbers were here first. And of course, if the status was submitted or otherwise. Portal astrology at its finest. ![]()
What does this mean? Theres a SC and VIP ID listed on main portal
I think last year it was showing differently. But, last year, my son was accepted in EA. And I didn’t follow how it played out in RD. I don’t think having those numbers means anything at this point. But, I have no idea.
For my child’s portal, they are missing on the main, but VIP ID as well as a USC ID on the backdoor
. I have no idea what this means, though. lol! Love portalology!
What is the difference between main and backdoor portal?
Last year, there was SO much chatter about tabs changing on the Self Service portal. Has anyone seen changes this year? Trying to keep my hopes nice and low over here

Love this! Would you be able to share your daughter’s stats? Hoping the same thing happens to me
Merit was released.
Sure. She did not submit test scores. She was ranked 2/700+ students. She had a 4.0UW/4.7W GPA and took 11 AP and 2 DE classes. She applied to the nursing program.
Received in state tuition (twins OOS) + a small additional amount. They were also awarded a separate scholarship for engineering which doesn’t seem to be reflected here. Interested to see the final aid package even though I don’t anticipate receiving anything additional.
