University of Tampa Class of 2029 Official Thread

For her, it is a punch in the gut when she is seeing people with much lower GPA’s and less EC get in and she was pushed to a Spring admit.

They reevaluate the GPAs not the HS one, like the other universities that use SRAR

Made our 1st Deposit!!! :tada:

Did you receive an email or was there just a change in the portal? My son’s portal says Spring as well.

i have almost the same stats and just got spring, this is crazy.

Was it Spring acceptance and also Fall waitlist?

yep.

For anyone who found out today. Anyone know when I should be expecting to find out merit package?

My child got the merit award about a week after acceptance on 1/31.

Accepted today. Sports management. TO.

For the Fall or Spring?

I do know that since I work in a high school college center at one of our large public high schools. We have seen a lot of this over this college season where people that should get into schools are being deferred or straight up denied. It is just a hard pill to swallow when you have done everything right and it’s still not good enough.

My daughter plans to seriously consider doing the Spring admit, we would just need to figure out what that would look like for her and weigh that against her accepting fall admission to her second choice school.

Congrats to everyone that was accepted whether it be Fall or Spring.

I am also considering going for the spring. I know some people do study abroad in that semester but does anyone know if Tampa offers study abroad for that first semester? Or would you have to do it individually

I would call admissions on that. That’s a great question

Ya I just emailed admissions

Did your friend’s son have a problem getting housing starting in the Spring?

Please let me know what the say because that was one of the things I was thinking about for my daughter

They haven’t answered yet but on their website it says you must have a certain amount of credits completed as a UT student before you can travel abroad so I’m assuming not gonna be possible. Unless they make exceptions for this situation
