On a recent accepted students day they said that most people that transfer or don’t stay at UTampa cited the distance from home and being homesick as the major reason. They told the audience of accepted students to think about the implications of bring far from home.
A college consultant from FL told me that frequently kids don’t get into USF so they do a year at the higher cost of UTampa and then transfer to USF for lower costs.

Congrats ! Prior to being moved to Fall did you make the $500 deposit ? Had you emailed at all to your counselor ? Just curious how it works for waitlist
We had made our deposit for my daughter and she reached out to her counselor as well.

So exciting! My daughter’s fall acceptance letter was dated the same day that she was accepted for the spring but came two weeks later. It was so odd.
Any tips or anything specific that your daughter may have said that helped her get off the waitlist? My son has followed up with his counselors expressing continued interest and asked a few questions, but no luck getting off the waitlist yet.
I honestly don’t know. I think already making the deposit helped

My daughter had not reached out to her admissions counselor nor had we made a deposit. Just randomly checked since seeing a post here and noticed the change to fall acceptance.

Not in the top two. But she just received a merit award today for 14K per year, so that may change things!

That’s great. On the Facebook for parents so many have said they got no merit !!! :(.
Your daughter have a high GPA ? SAT ?
My daughter had a high GPA and got zero merit!! According to their online calculator it showed she should get $13k! She reached out and they said merit decisions are final.

Has anyone gotten off the waitlist this week - moved to Fall 2025? If yes, had you made your deposit etc.?
Daughter was moved off from spring to fall this week. Made deposit and did housing app prior.

Our daughter was also moved off of spring waitlist to fall 2025. Waiting to see if any merit $ is awarded.

Yes I wonder if original spring admits even receive any merit. From what I’m seeing on social media - doesn’t seem it so far
