Yes I know, just didn’t know if they gave out any to lower stats. Assuming not, esp by the low merit numbers for high stats I’m seeing on here.
My son’s core gpa that is listed on the portal is the same as his unweighted gpa (3.86). I looked up the definition of how they calculate the core UT gpa and it should be much higher with the .5 quality point for honors and 1.0 weight for AP. Is it possible the core self-calculated gpa listed in his portal may be wrong?
It’s based on the STARS so I’d check that
Daughter accepted with Volunteer Scholarship. 4.1 recalculated GPA. 31 ACT (35 and 33 in Reading and English). English major. No AP offered at her school, but all honors and lots of DE. She is so excited!!!

D26 accepted for second choice major- Kinesiology. Nursing is still “under review”. 4.1 GPA, 31 ACT

They gave her $3000 in merit (Volunteer Scholarship) which is more than the $0 that Penn State gave her!

Welp, deferred. That was the expectation, so it didn’t impact her too bad. 4.14 UTK Core GPA, but the 1200 SAT is likely the hangup. She is okay though as she has her Fall admission to Penn State in hand and is REALLY happy about that. Good luck to everyone, and congrats if admission was received tonight!

Accepted for nursing – very excited about this one – with the Volunteer Scholarship. (Edited to add stats for those tracking: 33 ACT (35 math/35 science), 4.36 recalculated GPA).

Congrats! I’m not sure what the cutoff to accept a new score is but I would guess it’s early January. I know that’s how Auburn does it because my twins just retook it last week in hopes of more merit. I feel like most schools will still accept at least by early January but I don’t know for sure with TN!
So sorry. Deferred here, too. 1380/3.7 from a top public high school. Tons of leadership/sports/awards/volunteering. Feel your pain! Good luck in regular admission review and congrats to everyone getting an acceptance tonight!

Accepted OOS 4.36 UTK calculated gpa (was concerned because this is far lower than HS weighted), 34 ACT, 18k volunteer scholarship!!

OOS, accepted. 18k volunteer scholarship, but no mention of Cook or Chancellor’s. Are people seeing the Chancellor’s right in their decision letter, or is it found somewhere else?
Yes, Honors was mentioned in the first paragraph of the acceptance letter.
Deferred. 4.17 UTK GPA, 1260 SAT. Not surprised, but thought she had a shot since the major (comm) is not competitive and she is highly involved in our school’s version of THON (high school level of PSU’s huge dance marathon for pediatric cancer). Onward and upward! UTK will come off the list because she has acceptances at PSU, Pitt, UD, Miami OH with nice merit awards from both UD and Miami. Good luck to all Volunteers and congrats!!
