My daughter checked her portal and she also now has a NetID and admitted major. Like Peruna1998, we are in-state and she met the requirements for students UTK is now auto accepting, so she also was not too worried.
However, I wanted to agree with hickorymom that these portals do often have changes in waves, so I would not assume this is the final EA set of changes.
I also wanted to push back against AE1231’s comment that the admissions office is lazy and that is the reason admissions decisions have not been announced. These offices are sometimes quite lean operations with fewer counselors responsible for all applications than you might think. Things go awry with the technology, staff get sick, etc. Like many of our TN in-state institutions, UTK fall graduation was just a couple of days ago, so the late end of the term may have also played a part. The UTK admissions team never provided a firm announcement date, so I think it’s rather harsh to castigate their staff when it’s still mid-December.
Northeastern got into trouble AGAIN this year for accidentally (and incorrectly) sending admission notifications to 45 students and then had to call and rescind the offers. They did this last year for their law school but admitted 200 people and had to make those calls. Talk about an IT glitch!!
Kudos to you. I feel a little silly I have access to my D’s portals and am checking them. Guilty. This is my first kiddo going through this. I’ll probably be a little more hands-off with my second (plus he’s more type A and organized). By my third, we just won’t care anymore(and things will work out just fine) which has pretty much been the story of their lives. lol
Well, like I said it is probably a good thing I can’t access because I would be In them constantly. It is hard enough getting him to check his emails and portals for his admitted schools so he doesn’t;t miss anything so it has been causing me a lot of anxiety but probably for the best since once he’s in college I will know nothing that is going on with him regarding this kind of stuff.
we have same… Please include your 7th semester grades on your SRAR if you need to include them on your application. it’s been there since your post on 16th as well…DS24 is OOS / Haslam Supply Chain…last week of school here , so won’t see official scores until after holidays… is this a “deferred” tell? thanks y’all for all the support these past few weeks!
There has been no official announcement about results, so I wouldn’t read too much into it. They could be updating the portal based off major, in or out of state, or it could be completely random.
I hope you are right. I am not sure if they announce in one big swoop like others - like everyone at 4pm! or if it dribbles out… It is pretty bad if they just let us deferred figure it out… and keep checking and wondering… hope they send something. I asked a week or so ago to my AC and they said they send an email and text when decisions are out but doesn’t sound like anyone got that who has the portal change. Must look pretty awesome though
