I don’t even have a kid in the 2024 cycle at all, much less a UTK applicant, but I’ve been following this thread obsessively. What a great community - if you guys are representative of the students and families who will be heading to Knoxville, then UTK is in good hands. Best of luck to all, wherever you end up.

Thank you everyone for sharing in my angst! 
I some how missed this and I am sorry. I am sorry to hear she lost her grandmother and had bullying issues that is awful. I hope she finds her dream school and puts those people where they belong - out of her mind. One day she will pass them on the street with her head held high, a stronger, better, more secure person than they will develop into. Just remind her as I am sure you have - no one can take away your self confidence if you don’t give them permission, right? The best years are yet to come for her! give her a hug from me pls!!

Some may not love this, but I think it is worth noting that after all the complaints and anger directed at UTK they are announcing decisions at the end of February as they said? I think the portal stuff, signing up for tours, etc. just added to the stress for kids. Those not doing that stuff just waited until the announcement day, much like my daughter still is for schools that are end of March… She did get caught up in the EA SSAR thing, but it was very quickly fixed.

Not all were here for that , including us who were here for support, laughs and some inside info at times … These forums keep many of us moving forward in a positive manner and even encouraging others
My student has zero clue about any of these conversations or hacks . To each their own. What an odd time to come in semi finger pointing ?
