7th semester grades just showed up now on my kid’s poral…
This is torture! I’m really hoping this is an update for everyone and doesn’t mean i’ll be receiving a deferral…

I didn’t see a change in background or list of major at all like others but I looked at it much later then everyone else.

We are in state and UGA deferred my daughter but she has been accepted to Auburn, Clemson and Mercer (Mercer gave a lot of $$ too). Waiting on TN. My daughter was disappointed at first about UGA as so many people from her high school got accepted but she has since realized she doesn’t want to go there if they do accept her in RD.

Just checked with my daughter, OOS Civil Engineering applicant. Her portal changed earlier with an advisor name, NET ID and admitted major. No noticable change in portal background. Now that information is gone. Her weighted gpa is a 4.03 1300 SAT, 7 APs including Calc and Physicis C Mechanics. Long list of activites. Her older sister is a current sophomore Chem major at UTK and LOVES it . She has been deferred by Clemson, Uof SC and UGA so far. It has been a disappointing week. Fingers crossed for some good news. She is also looking forward to hearing from Texas A&M Engineering school. Applied EA and was recently told ALL EA applicaitons still in review are being deferred to Jan/Feb decisions. Thats another top choice, UGA is up there too. Now doing deferral forms and updating info. It has been CRAZY!

It’s a bit like something going viral on tik tok. These schools have gone viral in the age of social media in this moment but it might be different schools in a year or two. Some of it is driven by higher merit, lower oos cost but those perks are quickly changing. Us humans are fickle 
What school is her #1 pick? We got deferred for Clemson. Congrats to her, she should be so proud!
My daughter had the ID and admitted major this morning, but it’s gone now. She never had the festive background. I wouldn’t stress. Hers looks the same as it has now.

No, she never had that. This morning she had a UT NetID and a student ID # and it said Admitted Major. That is all gone now and back to what has been there since she applied. Nothing about 7th semester at any point.
Gotcha. I wonder if anyone called about the “glitch” earlier and asked if it was a tell you’ve been admitted, denied, or deferred.
I am pretty sure this is the same as Clemson button prediction.
Those of us showing 7th semester SRAR grades are getting deferred. Those that saw the Major listed and or wallpaper, getting admitted and those they have seen neither are getting denied.

She is torn between Clemson and Auburn. But she wants to see what TN died first. How about your son?

Well Clemson and U of TN were his first choices, but he got deferred at Clemson and U of TN looks like a def too, if this portal prediction is correct. Auburn is choice #3, which is what he may have to settle for if these other two do not work out. I am expecting we will get the full $17000 merit at Auburn, so that is probably a better choice then Clemson. The U of TN OA said my son already qualified for a huge merit offer based on GPA/SAT, so we will be a bit disappointed if he doesn’t get accepted. Just seems weird, he made sure to let them know this was one of his top choices at tour.
Just curious as my son is similar. Did he apply for the Haslam at UT and Honors college?
My OOS daughter applied to Honors and Haslam. No changes to portal at all.
