I can’t speak specifically to Business but can tell you that for S23 last year he was directly accepted into his program at UTK when he received his acceptance letter (and that was consistent among all the other schools he was accepted to).

I have hundreds of volunteer hours with different organizations, varsity baseball and golf, band,
Captain of golf team, vice president of national honor society, IB diploma candidate. My SAT score is not great so I am nervous. I have been able to maintain all A’s my entire academic career, with the exception of two high B’s in IB class. I fell in love with the campus when I toured in February. This is my top choice. I have been accepted everywhere that I have applied so far (Baylor, Texas A&M, Belmont, and a few other). Tennesse is where my heart is though…. It felt like home as soon as we walked on campus. I will be heartbroken if I don’t get in. Go VOLS!

You will easily get in, unless you have very weak test scores.

Test score is very weak compared to others with similar stats. I only have a 1250 SAT. Going to hope everything else on my app will outweigh the low test score.
The SAT is not the strongest stat but it’s still above the 80th percentile (this is not Vanderbilt or Ga Tech). I just wanted to say that. I don’t have any knowledge on the competitiveness of the engineering programs.

1250 is not terribly weak for Tennessee, you should be fine.

No official date, but many are suggesting either this Friday the 15th or the 20th.
along with UGA , wow… busy night … I think my son has a better shot at UTK than UGA… Haslam Supply Chain Mgt (#3?.. behind MSU and ASU I’ve read)… he’s been accepted to both of those, but awaiting the MSU decision to join Broad college of business… I think he’ll pick TENN of over the other two though if that’s his best option … campus life and more temperate climate…
does TENN refer to most to RD or give out a lot of denials? TIA
Based on what was posted last year, they defer most. There were very few rejections except for those who were no where close the to Tenneesee standards (under 3.0GPA, 1100 SAT most of the time). Also since he got into MSU, he should have no problem here. They have similar acceptance rates.

My gpa is a 3.4 and I have a 27 on my ACT and I have taken 5 ap courses, but I have a strong list of extracirculars like an internsip at a law firm as well as varsity sports throughout highschool and leadership in clubs during highschool. Do I have a decent chance of getting into UTK? Also I have been in contact with my admissions rep and I have met him at multiple events for UTK and he has said I am on his “watch list” not sure if that helps too…

We received a note thanking us for applying to the volunteer impact academy and that they are reviewing our application and will let us know by April. Does that mean my son got into UTK given they’re reviewing our volunteer impact application? Or would they review anyways? Anyone else get this note?

Hi - I just checked and noticed my son’s EA Haslam Supply Chain Mgt application (awaiting decision) also has the opportunity to apply for the Volunteer Impact Academy cohort and scholarship in the “Just For You” tab…along with the UT Success Academy Application…
Is anyone else showing this ?.. good sign for this week/ next week’s announcement?
