Congrats on getting off the waitlist! I am currently on it and was wondering how you sent your first semester grades of this year to them. I think that could really help me. Thank you!
When you accepted your position on the waitlist, it asked you to input your first semester coursework and grades.
I’m really nervous because I’m instate and haven’t gotten any notifications at all. I’m currently working on my LOCI and hoping to send it in as soon as possible.
@enguyenvi I’m instate too! I appealed and am waiting to hear back next week! I wouldn’t be too worried right now, in past years they don’t notify waitlist people until way later. I’m not sure why OOS (specifically Cali) was sent so early…! Also…you can do a LOCI?? If my appeal doesn’t work, I’m definitely doing that!
@hello123dawg wait a min I thought they were basically the same thing 0_0
I am doing the appeal by addressing all the issues they want me to put in the letter but I’m writing my intro a little bit differently than being denied… Sorry if I confused you!! Is it too late to send mine in? I plan to send it in this upcoming Wednesday hopefully.
Hi, I am trying to figure out when the in-students will be notified if the have gotten in or not. I am seeing many OOS kids getting in off the waitlist. Congrats to all of you! I realize there are different wait lists for OOS, International and in-state. Any ideas if they will fill spots from all lists with in-state students? Hoping my waitlisted son has a shot of getting in.
I was waitlisted and was accepted last week (OOS- Cali). I don’t know why, but a lot of my friends got accepted off the waitlist too, all from CA. I don’t know if they are releasing it by state or what but a lot of CA
Hello! For those of you wondering about LOCIs, I called the admissions office and they said that they do not accept LOCIs.
@rejectedddd thank you for that information! You can still write an appeal though! The news about mien should come this week…I’m so nervous…I’ll do an update once I get any new info though! Hopefully, my appeal is accepted and I don’t have to impatiently wait for in-state to be getting off the waitlist haha…we’ll see!
For those of u accepted off waitlist, did you find anything regarding financial aid/scholarships on your portal, if yes where can I find it? Thanks!
Hi, I submitted my appeal a couple of weeks ago and received a response today. It was not accepted, I had to redo my waitlist form, does anyone know why this is? Also, has anyone in-state been accepted off the waitlist
My appeal was also not approved. Did your email say that you had to resubmit your waitlist form?
@Mgkarlsvik My appeal was also not approved haha…welp. Yeah I thought I submitted my waitlist form but when I click on the link it makes me redo it…?
My appeal was not approved either , and when I clicked on the waitlist it did not make me re do it again, it just showed thank you for your response. Do you guys think the chances of getting accepted off the waitlist is high this year with the whole virus thing going on rn?
it’s very weird to think about knowing that out of state waitlist applicants are getting accepted (with appeal or without), but in state aren’t and in state has a higher acceptance rate? i think. i’m sure it’s because students are staying close to home instead of going out of state or because of COVID-19. just hope appeals and instate applicants are accepted soon…
my friend is In state and she appealed-- didn’t get in kind of worried because the chances are so random.
Last year appeals and waitlists were so successful for people! I’m sad to think that’s not how it’s going to go this year Im in-state too!
Hey guys… i see that many oos people from California are getting admitted off the waitlist, however Im still waiting for the waitlist decision… im from cali too. So worried if they already finished with the cali pool lol, is this by state? I hope not
Hi, I am an in-state student that was waitlisted, I appealed about two weeks ago and my appeal was not approved as of yesterday. I was wondering if the out-of-state students that were admitted off the waitlist would be able to give their stats. I’m also wondering if COVID-19 is making the waitlist process different this year. Also, was anyone successful with their appeal?
I have some important information coming from my college counselor. These are his words exactly when I told him about my appeal denial when he thought I was a really strong candidate:
“There’s a college study just finished which suggests 30% of students will now stay closer to home, so the UW might find that it admitted 7,000 to get to a class of 3,000 - and might get 4,500 kids who accept. That’s the math of admissions. It would also explain the appeal denial.”
So I think COVID-19 will, unfortunately, take a toll on our chances of getting off the waitlist which makes me really sad, if only we were graduating last year!
