Hey guys!! Do u guys know ANYONE who got rejected from the waitlist?? Im afraid that they r releasing the decisions to ppl who theyr admitting, and leaving ppl who they r gonna rejecting at the end… like what uci did this year
So far they’ve only notified OOS people who got in. They should start notifying in state in a few weeks judging by past years.
Does that mean, Im prbly not gonna get in if Im oos and still havent got off the waitlist?
I’ve got no idea! I wouldn’t think so, they won’t be notifying most people until after May 1st. I’ve just only seen OOS so far!
@wpcici Expectations is that more students will stay in state which means OOS should have a good chance of getting off the waitlist. Now the question is if this continues how bad will the summer melt be?
My appeal got approved today and I am in state! I basically talked about the topics UW gave on their appeal website in my appeal! If you are on the waitlist and UW is your dream school, I suggest appealing if you haven’t already. If your appeal is denied, It does not affect your chances of getting off the waitlist because it is not ranked. Plus, you got that extra chance! I’m sorry if your appeal didn’t get approved, I wish the best for those trying to get in/ off the waitlist! Thank you! Good luck and take care!
Does committing to UWB and submitting the deposit affect the chances to get into UW Seattle? since you might already “be in the system”? Will UW Seattle know that you already have been accepted to another UW Campus?
@Mango8 Congrats!!! Would you be willing to DM me your essay? If not, I totally understand! I just wanna see what they’re looking for
I am international but I have studied at WA high school since Grade 9. Received email with admission letter on April 9. Checked application status and found being updated as admitted.
Hi everyone, I submitted my LOCI and the admission office sent me an email saying that “Thank you for expressing your continued interest in the UW. If spaces in the freshman class become available, waitlist decisions will be based on the information you provided in your application and the information you provide in the online form. Additional materials, such as transcripts and letters of recommendation, will not be considered.” What does this mean? Does this mean that my LOCI got denied?
@perksofbeing Hi! Thank you! Sorry, I don’t feel comfortable sharing it because it is personal. Thank you for understanding! But if this helps, in my appeal, I wrote it in a story type of way explaining my circumstances, and included new information that my original application did not have! I also talked about why UW was the only uni I could see myself attend after HS. Have you submitted your appeal yet? I wish you the best!
Totally okay! I did submit mine I wrote about the same kind of thing, as well as internships in Seattle I wanted to apply to and a club I want to start on campus to make sure they know I’d be active. I also added some honors I’ve received since I applied. I’ll update when I get results !
@perksofbeing Thanks for understanding again! Yayayaya I’m proud of you! Also, that is good info to include in the appeal because you talk about wanting to contribute to the campus. Congrats to you getting honors woo! Good luck! I hope it all goes well for you :)! Are you on the waitlist? If so, you still have another chance of getting in too!
@Mango8 Yes I am! If neither works out, I’m going to apply to transfer for winter quarter
@Mango8 congrats on getting in off of appeal. I was wondering if you would be willing to share you high school stats, like gpa and SAT/ACT score. Also, your intended major. I just want a better understanding of what they are looking for because my appeal was denied and I am still on the waitlist. Thank you.
@Pokamolodoy it was said that UW does not accept LOCIs! only appeals
My S got off of waitlist yesterday. we are oos from cal. He got the response a bit late since he ‘forgot’ to turn in his senior transcript. ( most of oos kids were off of the list 2~3 weeks earlier than him). Pre-sci. uw gpa 3.7. sat 1420. few school clubs and volunteering, nothing fancy. no appeal process. They gave him deadline to accept by April 29 (not May 1st). Seems like UW wants to be ahead of other universities to fill students this year. None of other schools he is waitlisted have informed him anything.
@togumdoc Congrats to him! I’m also oos from CA so I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll let me in!
@njc524 Thank you! My unweighted gpa: 3.8 and SAT:1100. My top major I indicated on my application was engineering. Engineering is super competitive. I took AP and honor courses. I participated in many clubs/community service! In my appeal, I did address why I didn’t do as well on the SAT. Good luck getting off the waitlist!
Does anyone know If I appealed successfully, can I still choose to decline my offer or is it mandatory?
