When I click on “Unread,” a long list of all the threads I’ve posted in appears. They’re all old and locked, no recent ones.
Lots of old threads have finally been locked. The recent unreads, for me anyway, showed at nor near the top of the unreads. I read those, then clicked dismiss for all the locked ones. And then it returned to normal.
How do you dismiss all 3200 at once ? I’ve gone one by one. Down to 3017.
There should be a button that says “Dismiss all”
I saw dismiss but not all. Worst case I’ll do one by one ten at a time.
Edit. Figured it out. Thanks !!!
OK, thanks. A little convoluted but I’m set now.
I’m getting LOTS of unread threads noted where I just recently had NONE. Something is also wrong still with threads that appear below an opened post supposedly because they are recent…and they are NOT recent at all.
Also, does anyone monitor pinned threads? Some are so old that the information in them isn’t even accurate anymore.
There are also threads on similar topics that, if merged, would make discussing issues much easier.
I think I see what’s happening. A LOT of old threads are getting closed…and the closure makes it seem “new”.
It is easy enough to dismiss them all, but the current threads that I am following are dispersed amongst all of the closed threads. Now I have to go back to the current threads that got dismissed and read the posts that I missed. There has to be a better way of doing this.
Yes, that’s what I discovered.
Can you explain to me like I’m 8 — what did you do to dismiss them? Thx!!
If you go to the three parallel lines next to your avatar, click “new”. That will bring up all the new threads (aka the ones that were all closed out). There should be a grey button near the new thread button that says “dismiss” (it should be grey). If you click that, you should get an option to dismiss all.
Thanks @momofboiler1!
I was hoping it would also this update my “suggested posts” which is now 100% old random stuff I don’t care about. But hey fun trip down memory lane to see all the old posts from back when my kids were applying to boarding schools.
Just make sure you’ve already looked at all the “new” threads you want to keep showing up under “Unread.” If not, those won’t show up any more.
Oops. Did not do that.
You can go find them in whatever forum they are and click on them. Then they will show up again.
I thought new posts for these threads would show up. @momofboiler1
If there are new posts they should show back up in anything your are watching or tracking, unless you choose the dismiss all option that stops tracking the posts.
How would I know?
This is ridiculous.
