UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Thank you so much for sharing this. My daughter also put Plan II first and sociology second. We encouraged her to do so- why not show them that you have the confidence and desire to be in Plan II. Anyway, I have been worried ever since the non-autos don’t get 2nd choices looked at comments started.

I don’t think many OOS students have heard, other than some they likely wanted right away. We all have a sliver of a chance with the % OOS accepted, but… there’s still hope!

im OOS, applied priority, got an interview for CBHP/CSB, but yet to get any decision. I really believe that I still have a chance in the coming days – it’s not over till feb 1st (tho realistically friday :stuck_out_tongue: )!

Have any regular non autos received decisions? When do we expect those to come out?

I’ve posted about Fine Arts in here before, but does anyone know when Fine Arts decisions may be released? I know that they’re exempt from the priority deadline, but they’ve finished callbacks now so when might decisions come?

What response? Thanks!

Not admitted to First or Second major but instead to College of Liberal Arts, Undeclared

Thanks! So if applicant is not accepted at all, will they send a paper letter , or more likely an email?

If you aren’t accepted you will get a status update saying something along the lines of “Sorry…ur not in”. You will receive an email letting you know your status has been updated but often times that comes after the status update. Its the same for an acceptance except it will say “Congratulations”. Only acceptances will receive paper mail

I have a question, did you guys ever have to send in Senior year grades for your UT admission decision?

I don’t know. I am sort of tired of waiting so hopefully by this week. My daughter applied mid-September.

Yes that is what I thought too, so hoping by Friday for sure in either case. My daughter has great stats and submitted her SAT scores too (1480) but just not getting a decision already is making me stressed.

Just stay calm, what comes will come, there’s nothing we can do about it. If she is admitted then congrats, if not that’s fine, plenty of other opportunities for her. Stressing about something you can’t control won’t make the situation better.

Agreed

@bestday738 i think the non-autos must have their second choice looked at because my daughter put Moody/communications second and received an email encouraging her to apply to honors. (Plan II was first).

That’s not to say she would get it for either, as she has a AA friend who put Plan II first and McCombs second and he got word this past weekend he was assigned Liberal Arts- Undeclared (hasn’t heard from Plan II). Again, his outcome may not be what transpires for either of our daughters as I don’t know if he didn’t build a case for being a fit for McCombs or not.

Well put. I for one am glad this week has finally come. For better or worse, this painful wait will finally be over and my daughter can finally move on. So stressful. I feel for all of these incredibly bright students.

Yes I think Plan II as first choice is the only exception where they do look at second choice major also .

I am a Vietnamese who is fortunate enough to study abroad, I apply for UT Dallas, SMU and UT Austin. 2 of them have offered me admission, UT A is the last one. While I am comfortable enough to say that my future is secured, my friends have to cramp up a ton of knowledge for the university entrance exam, 6 subjects to be exact. The thing is that Vietnamese universities doesn’t work the same way as in the us, they rely on the exam’s score to admit students. It all comes down to a test, and if you blow it, you are done and that stereotypes about Asian’s “Why this school, u no good, try better” is freaking true here.
