My daughter was AA and got into public health, which was her first choice.
I applied architecture and have also been deferred. According to a few people on Reddit, architecture has missed the deadline in the past. I haven’t heard from anyone else about this year though. I’m planning to call the admissions office tomorrow to make sure that there’s nothing wrong. Let me know if you hear anything.
@pinkcactus456 , hmmm, my son’s says they need to make an additional review before making a final decision and he will be notified by March 1. Is that what you mean by deferral?
If my daughter accepts CAP, is her decision binding? She’s still waiting to hear back from several schools.
thank you so much good luck to you!!
has anyone heard anything about the college of education?
That’s the message I received as well.
no you cannot speedrun. you have to take 30 hours as mentioned. Same with PACE also.
CAP here for poly sci major; UTA bound worth it when we have 43 college dual credits? As we have TTU UNT, UTD, LSU Honors, waiting… I guess it is how bad we want to be a Longhorn?
Yes that’s what i have, i’m not sure if it’s a deferral but i don’t know what else to call it
Not worth the energy. If he has to start at another UT school, he is better off starting at A&M for his desired major, and applying again as an external transfer to UT CS, which he would effectively be doing by applying to UT CS from CAP school. If he wasn’t successful then he would at least have his desired major at a very good program.
Is he in a special program for CS at A&M? Doesn’t he have to compete for his major after the first year there?
Just heard back from COLA. Rejected from psych
As Intl student I really thought I had a pretty decent shot and my extracurriculars and grades were off the board but guess not
@pinkcactus456 , I’m thinking they are just behind in getting through the applications this year and are buying time. I could be wrong but I’m curious if anybody actually has gotten accepted yet for engineering honors.
When did she receive her admissions decision?
Thanks, appreciate the reply. Good information to consider. Yes, you are correct… no special program, just he’s been accepted to the T A&M College of Engineering and has to follow the entry to major process but assumption is that there are enough computer related options for him to pursue in that program that will net the same result.
City of Austin, the campus (the only one he’s seen so far in person), and reputation are probably the only thing keeping CAP as an option for him now, but once he sees the other options in person and it gets closer, he’ll probably move on and pass on CAP.
Thank you again for the thoughts…
