Hi, I’m an OOS application that hasn’t applied yet, and I am a little confused with the application process. On this thread, a lot of people are hearing back on a rolling basis, is this only for in-state auto-admits or all applicants? I thought everyone heard back on one date. Also, since I haven’t applied yet, am I put at a disadvantage for applying this close to the final deadline? The final deadline is Dec 15th, but I have read conflicting and confusing information on when the deadline for honors and merit scholarships is because of all the extensions. Did I already miss the honors and merit deadline? Sorry for the confusion. I am very unfamiliar with Texas admissions as I’m OOS and don’t know anyone who has ever applied from my school. My fault for not doing a lot more research on UT Austin before adding it to my list.
It’s mainly in state auto admits that have heard already, but non auto admits have started to hear as well as some OOS I believe. You have missed the deadline to apply for honors programs which was early November.
They do not have one admit date only. They usually admit in batches and generally in the past it’s done by their schools so a lot of mccombs may be on one date. Usually Fridays around 5 is a popular time. Also, if you’re just applying now then I wouldn’t expect to hear until February at the earliest.
@anniee1219 You better hurry as application deadline Dec 15 doesn’t mean you can click submit button on Dec 14. Application has to be done by Dec 15 and supporting material (Scores/transcript/LOR) deadline is Dec 21. For LOR you trigger the request via the MyStatus portal and at times even your teacher submitted it can take days to go through.
Actually, the Deadline to apply for honors has been extended to December 15, 21st to receive all materials. March 1 is the deadline to let all applicants know. My son applied as in state, non auto admit ( meaning outside of top 6% of his graduating class) on October 4th to McCombs.
There was a priority deadline that was due Nov. 1. It think it is like Early Action. Then there is the regular deadline on Dec 1. It got moved back to Dec 15. There have been only little batches of admits. I would still apply for sure. The admissions is not like a traditional rolling admissions like Texas A&M. There are small batches and large waves of admissions. It is not like Ivy Day where everyone gets their decisions on one day.
There is supposed to an large initial wave of acceptances this Friday. However, there are three large waves of acceptances in January. I believe most people get admitted in January. You will be fine and have a shot if you do regular decision.
My daughter is not auto-admit, when do you think we should start hearing from UT on the admissions? She sent in her application in August.
Hi. I am an OOS applicant applying into Moody. I applied at the end of September and was wondering if anyone knows when OOS applicants typically hear back? Do you think I’ll hear back this month or more like January/February?
Mostly on December, January and February. Majority on January.

Historically, does anyone know when students start getting accepted to Canfield Business Honors? Is it ever in December?

Last year the most competitive applicants got in towards after the first major wave of admissions (which is tomorrow) all the way up until Christmas and then up until the end of February.

Do applicants to UGS (undergraduate studies) usually hear in the first waves?
Does anyone know when College of Fine Arts releases OOS decisions…I have heard at very end but what if no portfolio because applying Art History?

@abcjlm Some do. Tomorrow (or next Friday) is first meaningful wave but it is not major wave. Major one in January.
Does anyone know if OOS School of Education is supposed to be include in tomorrow’s wave?
