UT Austin required an official transcript to be sent from your school. A SRAS won’t suffice.
Yes, that’s right. Sorry about the confusion. I’m getting my Texas schools all scrambled up I was thinking of Texas A&M.
My son was CAPPED during the last wave. In state, SAT 1560. He was ranked 6.1% thus none auto. We called school and were told we could appeal with any improvement or new evidence. Now we received mid-year grade and he is top 5%! Would that now qualify him for auto admission? Is it too late or UT will still honor that? Anyone has experience to share or any idea? Please help~ Thanks!
I think I would call the admissions office again and ask to speak to someone who can help you with that specific situation and ask them to look into your exact son’s application and not generically. And I would also definitely appeal since he is now top 5%.
Thank you so much! I will call them first thing on Monday for sure! It is so nerve wrecking.
I have applied before the Dec 15 deadline, haven’t heard since. I see some decisions have rolled out already for RD. Should I contact UT Austin? International (INDIA) Biomedical engineering.
I had the same question.
But even if you are auto now, they may assign you to COLA. So be prepared to have more compelling reason for appeal if the major you desire is competitive.
Thank you!!! Yes we have written the appeal letter with updated transcript (better GPA), new ranking 5%, and NML (we were told we would get the notification today). Son will also submit two A grades from his summer classes at UCB (which he didn’t include in the past). Finger crossed.
got into Architecture today, international student
CAPPED… So, Is it truly any hope to appeal the CAP decision? Any advice to focus onto if wanting to appeal? Guidance? (Political Science)
We are definitely going to appeal. The AO said we can appeal with any improvement in ranking, grades or changes…
Anyone know how much of a turn around result of an appeal is?
Also, is the Feb 12 decision a binding or non binding?
Architecture is supposed to be the most competitive major to get into at UT Austin. Plus you are an international which makes it harder. Nice work.
Thanks! Although I am international, I go to a Texas private school. I think this might have helped me getting in.
By March 1.
Haven’t heard from UT Austin, international McCombs.
I haven’t been following too closely; is the Feb. 12 decision the day when kids sign up for CAP? If so, I’ve heard that the CAP seats literally fill up in minutes. I wouldn’t think it is particularly binding because well, it is a public university and if you don’t pay your tuition, you are out.
you should definitely appeal
