Anyone got into Dean’s Scholars??
My daughter was not accepted to Dean’s Scholars. While she is surprised, due to her test scores/grades/etc., she’s not disappointed as she had already decided against attending UT. We sincerely hope the students admitted to the program are excitedly planning to attend UT.
did you get denied decision, or shows pending?
There was a message in her portal (honors tab) saying she was not offered admission to Dean’s Scholars.

Thank you! As I said, she had already decided against UT and is super excited about Baylor’s University Scholars program so it’s all good.

My S21 is in a similar boat (international). His application went from Under Review–Missing Supplemental Material to Cancelled. He submitted the TOEFL scores twice and has the send receipts. I’m reading that its happened to many international students.
He’s not to stressed out because he got into a school higher on his list, but he has a classmate who has UT as his dream school and is facing the very same situation.

I understand. Even I’ve been admitted to a great school, and haven’t been rejected once. However, as a person interested in CS Austin seemed like a great place to be in (all major tech companies are moving there). I just thought it would be a great learning space, and it still hurts just being “cancelled”

Thank you !!!Though I am still waiting for a couple of other schools, but since I got into Dean’s Scholars, UT has become my top 3 choice now, and I am really excited about this fall !!!

I am going to UT for a visit this weekend and scheduled a Callaway tour too. I plan to look at Jester too for on campus- but I don’t think I will be able to get in to dorm.
Have fun! Campus may not be too crowded because spring break starts on Friday but that’s probably a good thing anyway with covid and no mask mandate in Texas beginning tomorrow - even though UT has one and many places in Austin so.
For good cheap Tacos go to Torchys. Barton Springs is nice too if you have a car. Of course tons of bbq places. We still haven’t been able to make it to Franklins which is always too crowded but there’s a really good one around the corner from the downtown Marriott (can’t remember the name) and further out of town I think called County Line, mm good. Kerby Lane for breakfast/brunch on Guad.

Yah, I’m bummed and know its break, but I am running out of time because I play a spring sport and then i can’t travel. I have to go now or else I can’t again before may commitments. Thanks for info.
Check the Callaway website. There’s already a waitlist for almost all of the rooms.
