UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Is there yet another round of appeals? I heard appeals came out already earlier this month.

Yes they did! The regular appeal are out I believe. But I submitted a late appeal so I’m still waiting.

Ah didn’t know they had such a thing. Good luck!

Does anyone know if UT charges for credits that are being used from high school? can’t find any info on website. When they evaluate my HS transcript for AP and Dual enrollment credit is there a fee or charge per credit? Do they usually take most? IN NJ so the website doesn’t have any of the colleges listed on there when I searched. TY

Yes they charge for AP credit. It is advised that you do not claim any credit until you meet with you advisor. No reason to be charged if it will not advance you in your degree.

Do you now where I can find info on what the charges are for Ap and Dual Enrollment College classes?
TY

@srparent15 is familiar with this and can probably advise.

Thanks.
Also trying to obtain info on course selection.
Other than Rate My Teachers.com does anyone have any info on reviews for professors, courses, best core courses in each domain, etc. that I can access for info?
Any info with this is helpful. TY

ratemyprofessors.com and ■■■■■■■ are other places to look for professor ratings. You can also search for that course/prof on reddit and see if anyone has discussed it.

not sure why it blanked out k o o f e r s (it’s just a website, nothing nefarious!)

Does anyone know what the TSI (Texas Success Initiative is)? How does it work? Am I required to take it before I accept my offer of admission at UT or after? Is there a deadline? I do not have SAT scores so I don’t have any exemptions

You do not have to take the TSI to accept your admission.
Accept admission first; then, if you do not have ACT or SAT scores to exempt you; you do have to take the tests.

You do need to take the TSI assessments before you can register for classes.
If you don’t take it you will have a registration bar on your account which will lock you out from registering for classes, which you do at orientation.

Yes $10/hr for any dual credit or AP credit claimed

I know when my daughter registers every semester she’s able to access the grade information and professor reviews from prior semesters so she usually knows who the better professors are that she wants to take. Let me see if I can find out what that website is.

ETA: something called catalyst to review grades and UT syllabi you can review ratings but also there’s a chrome extension that lets you see all at the same time. UT syllabi you can find under the course registration stuff if I recall.

Correct. Mine didn’t need her Spanish credit so never claimed it. Saved $60! Woohoo

Did you have a bar on your registration page? My son turned in the ACT so I am assuming he won’t need to take the test

oh got. I thought it might be way more for credits. no big deal.
Can you get me the info for the catalyst or site to look up course/grade distribution etc. exactly and pass along? That will be useful.

TY So much

The bar appeared- it isn’t actually a bar it says Registration Bar and underlined in red- then gives you explanation that you didn’t fulfil TSI requirements. I had to get my ACT transferred over to that TSI office. Now it’s gone and no red indicator. You can’t register for classes with that bar-system blocks you.
