My son just got in Plan II this week. Auto admit. He listed it as the first major because he did not know any better lol. He was accepted into his second major during the wave last week and got in Plan II several days later. So I guess it all depends?
Is there a Plan II group somewhere either on CC or on other platforms? I would very much like to join. Does anyone have information on whether Plan II is a good choice for premed?

Congrats to your son! Yes you can do it either way but if he had not been strong enough for Plan 2 it is possible he may not have gotten the second major ( or so they said at the time 2 years ago). ChillyCow started another page that I believe starts with Plan II UT 2025 - search that and you should find.
I dont know the exact stats for pre-med through Plan 2 but I know they have a very high admit rate. Pretty sure it is on their website somewhere!
What has financial aid looked like? my daughter would be an auto-admit but hasn’t applied yet anticipating no merit aid and little need based aid due to being just under the 120k mark in family income. I was unable to find a net price calculator on their website or one that worked through their link to college board. So just wondering if it’s worth the application fee, since we wouldn’t be able to pay close to full freight.

Is your daughter a senior? I think the deadline to apply was 12/15. We are still waiting on an admission decision, but I have heard that there isn’t much merit awarded. I can’t give first hand experience though.

i dont think today, mb tomorrow, other schools are dropping this week. So ut gotta be one of them. Hoping they release oos, but i doubt my chance
@paige003, my daughter is in the same situation, she is also an auto admit, submitted application for BME , with second choice Biochem in mid October. We haven’t seen any BME acceptances at least on College Confidential or Reddit. So, I hope you and my daughter will get favorable outcomes in the next wave. Good luck!

My daughter is also in the same boat. Auto Admit, waiting to hear about BME as 1st choice or Biochemistry as 2nd choice. I am hoping they will give favorable decisions to everyone soon.

When they release waves, is there a particular time that they are released or is it different every wave?
they say waves for UT Austin are typically released around 5 PM CST, but they are random sometimes - i know some people get it late at night, early in the morning, in the afternoons, etc. but its usually 5 pm

It appears quite random this year. The batch before Thanksgiving was in the morning, and the one on Dec. 10 was close to 5pm CST. Hopefully they have a wave today.

Not yet. Though I don’t think I’m getting in so I’ll probably be in the rejected wave.
