UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

I am sorry, but I don’t know if it is a BA or BS - I don’t want to mislead you. From what I know, it is a honors degree program, which is different than some other honors programs that are in addition to the primary degree.

My S21 also submitted his application on Dec 4th. When my D19 applied on Dec 1st, 2 years ago, she heard her acceptance on Jan 10th. So, we never know. Hoping for a positive result soon.

It’s the Bachelors in Computer Science which for Honors is a B.S. Degree and the Bachelors in Business Honors Program (which is a major) which is B.B.A. Degree.

If not in Honors for CS you can earn a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelors of Science and Arts

How have we not gotten a wave yet in January?

I think there have been a few decisions released here
and there but nothing huge.

Does anyone get rejected or just deferred in January?

In past years, there have been rejections at the end of January. They’ve announced CAP and PACE at that time too. Not sure about deferrals.

But there are a lot of acceptances in January
as well correct?

Yes, priority decisions are released in January. Historically, they’ve released acceptances first (my guess this week through next Tuesday, 1/19), then rejections, CAP, PACE either Thurs., 1/22 or Fri., 1/23. That’s just based on my own daughter’s experience (she’s a current sophomore at UT) and a former UT admissions guy’s findings for 2019. I forget his blog, someone else posted it a lot earlier in this string. This is based on “normal” years. This is not a normal one due to test optional and the pandemic so… best we can hope for is that priority decisions, rejections, CAP, PACE, etc… are all before Feb 1. GOOD LUCK!

I found that blog. Very helpful and looks like he’s updated for 2020 at the top of his blog: https://texadmissions.com/blog/2019/10/25/when-might-i-receive-my-major-decision-does-ut-have-rolling-admissions-for-fall-2020-freshman

Just out of curiosity, did the students who have access to the RIS take UT classes in high school? Such as onramps or quest? That could be a reason why some are able to see the sheet and others are getting an error.

i’m in state auto 2% and took onramps and used quest in my chem/physics classes and still have an error on my RIS.

auto-admit waiting on my major

Same with my son. Did you submit an ACT/SAT score?

One of my friends who never took an Onramps class is able to see the registration sheet. In contrast, one of my other friends did take an Onramps class but is unable to see the registration sheet.

I took 4 Onramps classes, but I looked a couple weeks and I was unable to view it. I am able to view it now

I read most Ivys reported a big increase in applications for ED. Going by that trend, I’d say YES. Maybe with the next wave, UT’s Priority applicants numbers will be disclosed.

I applied in October, still waiting for BME decision.
My preference was UTD but this year I got no AES money so UT becomes my cheaper option. I thought my stat was high but I read past few years UT BME rejected a valedictorian from class of 1401. I am not so sure anymore.
