UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Number of applications always goes up simply because Texas population keeps increasing.

Cannot speak to UT specifically, but many AOs speak of increased applications at all institutions. Probably a couple of factors like needing increased aid (so appling everywhere in hopes of getting some merit) or simply kids being stuck at home due to the pandemic and having the free time to fill out more applications by the EA deadlines.
It will be interesting to see if the same kids get accepted everywhere and then schools are left with lower numbers of students registering. Could be beneficial to those on the waitlists.

nope i didnt submit scores but i had heavily stacked ec’s and rec letters

Im still waiting as well. Have you heard of anyone else who got a decision for BME?

One girl from my HS. She is a few spots lower than my rank but she has much better ECs. I have virtually no EC cause I am working in Target part time. There are several BME acceptance in CC here all of them girls. And one in UT25 Twitter (also girl) from El Paso she even got $96K full ride.
I know many people hate auto-admit, but with 47% yield, you can tell many auto-admits are not getting their choices of major. If I don’t get into BME in UT I will go for other colleges.

What’s the name of the Twitter account?

Congrats. Which major?

Congrats! What are your stats and ECs?

Congrats!:tada:

was it a release day today?

Just checked my portal, no release for me atleast. I’m OOS, applied priority for CNS

A 47% yield rate is quite high for public universities.

Probably lol

Yes 47% is high, that’s because a lot of majors are top ranking. But UT’s situation is different. 53% admitted but chose not to go there because they got better deal elsewhere, and likely due to not getting the major they want in UT.

Don’t like 75 percent of auto-admits get their first choice major?

Has anyone who has been able to access their registration sheet seen that their listed major is their second choice?

it seems like mostly everyone is either seeing their first choice major or the bad data message. are you seeing second choice major listed there?

im guessing if certain people are seeing 2nd choice major, then it could very well be possible that the registration sheet could be indicative of admissions outcomes - but I’ve also heard that getting second choice major isn’t very common, so im not sure.

Yes I asked the question for that reason but I don’t see my second choice only my first
