UT Austin Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Regarding the part of the message that says “and you’ll be notified by mail” do they really mail you a rejection?

Agree 100%, even though I got in, if A&M offer me scholarship I will go to A&M. I don’t worry about A&M’s ETAM first year. I am on tight budget and plan to finish all the way to postgraduate.

The best way would have been to finish as many dual-credits as possible that can be applied to Engineering. My son finished HS in Dec 2020. He has already completed the core curriculum via dual-credits. Now he is taking additional credits at ACC that can be applied towards (UT/Texas A&M) Engineering. If he gets lucky, most likely, he will be entering as Junior or close to it.

Hi question , even with so many basics taken care of , will he be able to graduate any earlier than 4 years ? In the engineering tours we took at UT / TAMU they made it sound like you really can’t do it sooner bc so many of the upper level classes are prerequisites for each other ?

You can transfer up to a max of 60 credits, and an undergraduate degree is 120 credits. For example, for Engineering, if you have taken care of Physics, Calculus, Differential Equations, and maybe Discrete Math/Linear Algebra, then you have taken care of most of the prerequisites for upper-year courses. Moreover, by completing the core curriculum, your schedule will open up for additional credits. In every UT Engineering major, in addition to your major electives, a student needs to complete 12-16 credits (that can be other departments as long as the course meets the degree requirements). Long story short, you have to strategize by looking at the 4 years degree plan of the desired major. The following link will help you. im getting anxious and feel like i prob won’t get in so can someone chance me? i’m applying for psychology BS, i applied when i was top 7.2% ( so non auto), 31 act, 12 ap classes, and maybe average or a like above average essays. also does anyone know if it’s easier to get into psychology BS or BA? or is it like the same?

I’m wondering same for my daughter. Psychology. But oos. 4.0 gpa 30 act. 5 AP rest honors. Lots of EC and volunteer. I think excellent essays but who knows! But feeling doubtful at this point. Of course UT is her first choice :(((

So today’s wave was just auto admits? Just wondering because I am OOS

It seems like yesterday’s wave was auto admits.

It appears only AA at least based on the updates on this post. My son is OOS too, waiting …

Yes, my first choice major is in the RIS. However all this conjecture about various things that can be seen on UT Direct doesn’t really get my hopes up. Part of me thinks it’s due to already being in the system as an OnRamps student. Supposedly a big wave of non-auto’s is due next week. We shall see.

not sure abt the RIS part. mine shows BAD1000DATA. i’m OOS too. lets see if we hear next week.

hey guys I got accepted into nursing on friday.
in state, auto 4%, no sat/act scores, 3.9 unweighted gpa, lots of ap classes, mediocre ec’s.
its true when they say grades and ec are not everything, i showed my passion and commitment in my essays and made them extremely personal to me and i believe that’s the main reason on why I got in. kinda still in shock that I got into nursing since I genuinely believed I wouldn’t lol, but good luck to all of y’all, don’t lose hope!!

I was told OOS regular decision could be any time by admissions and can definitely overlap with priority so hoping soon

As a priority auto-admit, I’m starting to lose hope now. I’m still waiting for my decision but it looks like virtually all auto-admits who got into their major of choice got their decisions last Friday. I thought my stats were more than good enough…
