My daughter never got a FASFA email from UT unless I missed it, but the Financial Aid tab in My Status changed to have message: Please check back. We have received your application for financial assistance. Please check back in the coming months for more information.
No.
Oh ok. Thanks for replying. My son applied by regular deadline. Not EA.
FAFSA status for accepted students reads “Please check back in two weeks.”
This explains how to calculate your points for ENGR honors. The system may not be the same now, but maybe it’ll still give you some idea. Admissions Data and Tips for the Cockrell School of Engineering — Tex Admissions
I remember reading that the overall acceptance rate for UT Austin was around 40%. For in-state, non-auto admits, the acceptance rate was something like 11% last year. With the surge in applicants this year I bet the acceptance rate for in-state, non-auto admits will be below 10% this year.
For my son’s OOS, it has been sound 14% acceptance since 2017.
I forgot to mention there was zero admission out of 18 applicants in the past three consecutive years
And less depending on the major.
Yes, and lower depending on major
Off topic but but can anyone advise on non AA merit aid offer from previous years? Or just getting in is all a non auto admit can expect? Thank you
How do you know? And mine says check in the coming months
My D21 (non-auto) checked her MyUT and there is a list of courses (nonspecific to her major) under the canvas section. Before today, it said “Important notice” at the top but now that’s not there. Does anyone else see this? She is still waiting for a decision so anxiety is through the roof!
My daughter applied to Plan II and Moody. After she applied, she received an email from Moody encouraging her to apply to Moody Honors. Is this typical?
I wouldn’t think a particular major would encourage applicants who would be denied to put forth additional effort/essay if in a “no” pile? So hoping it’s a good sign…?
She hasn’t heard yet from either (applied priority to Plan II and Moody and Moody honors was submitted after priority deadline). She has excellent stats and EC, in-state, non-auto admit.
The only non-auto that I know who got merit recently (full tuition+ to CBHP) was admitted very early in the admissions cycle. So it’s possible, but, imo, unlikely if you’re still waiting for an admission decision.
I see the same thing.
I don’t want to get your hopes up, but that may be a good sign. My daughter hasn’t gotten a decision and I don’t see that in her portal.
Was the “important info” on the top right? When I opened “myUT”, it says this:
Canvas doesn’t have an account for user: scxxxxx
I guess yours is very promising.
My daughter has the same message, “Canvas doesn’t have an account for user: xxxxx”
where do you find canvas?
