RE: UT Engineering Honors and numerous rejections being reported right now… (I’ve read about one acceptance. One.) It’s an honors program. I can understand not giving everybody in an honors program a scholarship…but to outright reject them from membership, person after person? That makes no sense. What is it Engineering Honors is looking for? One of the “rejects” is a 36 (x4) kid with all the fixings. My kid has a 35 (sorry he isn’t “perfect” ???). What is the point of an Honors program that you can’t get in? I’m pretty flabbergasted and frankly insulted for all of our hard working kids. Again…I didn’t expect a guaranteed scholarship…but I did expect he would get in to the program. The kicker will be if he applies and gets in next year…at the point where they do not qualify for scholarships. Sigh.
