I accepted my UT offers (admission and CNS honors), and scheduled the orientation. But in the portal (myStatus) there is no mention of math placement test and no link for me to scheduler the test. In the orientation confirmation email, also no mention of math placement test before orientation. Just wondering whether I need to take the math placement test. ACT math 35. Am I exempt?
No, I don’t believe you are exempt from the test. Every CNS student, regardless of test scores, must take the Placement exam. The exemption only exists for non-CNS students:
The UT website states that the test for Fall 2024 will be available early summer 2024.
Thanks for the info.
So did you get in?
Yes, the appeal was approved!
Congrats!!
has anyone gotten a housing contract today?
good sign maybe?.. We need more time to review your appeal. You will have an update by April 12.
ig cause its not a rejection of the appeal
Congrats!!! Also, what was your essay about, and what was ur major?
Business, and my essay was about some new major extracurriculars/awards
She already did. Her score was nothing impressive. Her biggest obstacle with standardized tests is time. She cannot finish any sections. When you take away the time factor, she actually does very, very well. However, there is nothing to designate her needing any sort of accommodations. So, it is what it is.
were u originally CAPPED?
I got the same message in the portal too. Which major and did you get any update yet?
My daughter has been offered the Accelerated Transfer Program (ATP) for computer science. We are freaking out, so happy for her, can’t believe it! Had a phone call with the admissions counselor who contacted her, and it’s official. This has been such a long, wild ride, this college thing, omg, lol. (ATP: You take 3 CS classes and 1 calculus class. Pass them all, and you automatically become a CS major spring semester.)
Awww… that is just so amazing!!! What an accomplishment! Our kids will be ready to see her on the 40 Acres in Spring!!!
Thank you! She had moved on and accepted her Undeclared, Liberal Arts. So, just such a surprise. We knew of ATP, but also knew very mysterious and rare and unlikely, plus we figured those invites had all gone out, since it’s been weeks now. Anyway, so happy for her. (And more likely officially CS major in fall sophomore year, I may have misspoken.)
Congratulations!!
Anyone has any insight of the appeals process? I’m helping one of my daughter’s friends, who submitted an appeal on March 15, but has still not received a decision in her portal. I’ve encouraged her to reach out to her AO, but it seems like a very long time to hear back?
Based on what I’ve read from the forum, she should have gotten an email about her appeal. From a post about 24 days ago, updates were set to come out on April 12th. I’d say reach out to the AO - if nothing comes out of it consider that the appeal was rejected.
ETA:
Here is the exact process per the UT Appeals website.
