I saw them releasing at 5pm one year in December and at 7pm another year.
After they have left for the day.
Itâs invitation only now for the 40 Acres Scholarship. It is totally worth doing even if the student doesnât become a finalist though. I recently had a student who, while waiting to hear from the Texas Exes was offered a tuition scholarship from his major college. It wouldnât have had all the perks, but still so worth it.
It seems to me that given the timing of releasing decisions for OOS students (January) and the deadline for 40 Acres (finalists named in January?), it is unlikely that many OOS students will be invited to apply because there will be little to no time between their file being reviewed, being invited to submit and being able to write the essay by the deadline. Is that a reasonable assumption?
The Forty Acres committee will know if the student is admitted before the student knows. Plus, they have access to the studentâs application for admission. So no, OOS students are not disadvantaged. Also, the vast majority of decisions will be released in January, regardless of instate/OOS status.
So if a student is not invited to submit for 40 Acres by Jan 1 (or let us say the end of this week because of holidays), then you can assume one of two things: 1. They may be getting accepted to UT but not getting a 40 acres invite, or 2. They are not getting accepted.
If they do not review applications until January, then there is little to no time to decide if they should invite the student to submit and write the essay by the deadline. This, of course, is assuming that: 1. They select finalists based on the essay they ask them to write, 2. and that these essays have to be written and evaluated by the middle of January).
Does that make sense? I donât see how you can select finalists by mid-January if not all applications (that were submitted on time) have been evaluated and students notified before Jan 1.
Maybe I am missing something?
Is anyone else autoadmit and applied close to the deadline (Dec 1)? Itâs been almost two weeks and my daughter hasnât gotten her autoadmission. Is it true if you apply late you pretty much get the autoadmit and major at the same time, and later like Feb-Mar?
Just saw someone post on reddit that they got accepted to CS.
