Friend’s son got in, auto admit, top 1%, CS

There are no announcements of waves and no predictability. When over 66,000 people are applying for a few seats in 185 majors, unless UT says specifically, “We are going to release CNS admissions today at 9:00 am!” no one at all can presume anything. Maybe you could just say, like some of us, “Maybe it’s today… I will check. Nope, not today. Dang. I guess I’ll wait until tomorrow and check again.” Or, I’m sure there are others with much more patience who are moving on with their lives and letting the info arrive when it arrives without thinking too much about it. That is not I, because I have time on my hands to check and will likely do so until the BIG DAY. But…no one knows when anything is going to be released. The only thing we know is that Priority applicants will hear something BY February 1 and no later. There’s no guarantee the Admissions Officers even know when the ball drops! Ha! So…patience, Padawan.

They are releasing some OOS decisions right now

Did you get in? I heard there was some OOS decision drop

Do they release over the weekend??

Could they be releasing by state?

Do you mind sharing the state??

We are also waiting on ECE (& plan II.) My son is auto admit; top 2% (18/875); NMSF; 36 ACT & 1590 SAT…plus the typical ECs.

Sharing only for reference -auto admit/36 ACT or not- still waiting on ECE!! Which is brutal! :hugs::grimacing::weary:

I KNOW!!! The waiting! I keep telling myself that it is okay to know that we won’t hear for 30 more days, but also okay to keep refreshing MyStatus in my free time ; )

for real… Anyone know if they have released on weekends??

i read this online… Update #2, December 11, 2023: A small batch of decisions went out over the weekend for most majors and including Texas residents outside of the top 6%.

My daughter (in state) received her acceptance to McCombs yesterday afternoon and Plan II Honors this afternoon. Both were on notifications on her portal with no email/regular mail correspondence. Notifications are going out but don’t get discouraged if you have not heard.

Hook 'em!!!

Would you know the approximate stats of your daughter’s 2 friends who got in McCombs? Thank you.

Congratulations! Do you mind sharing her stats?

I wouldnt worry about it. IMO, they probably are waiting until after ED on some really high stat kids. My D24 just got accepted ED to Rice so she’ll be withdrawing her UT application.

Although moot at this point, She never heard anything either from McCombs/Plan II and BHP.

As a UT alumnus, I was rooting for her to go to UT but that’s the way the football bounces.

Good luck to everyone!

Would you be willing to share your daughter’s stats? My daughter also applied to McCombs. We were very optimistic at the beginning but get more anxious as days go by w/o hearing anything. Thank you.
