I dont know if the thumbs up mean yes
School if Liberal Arts. GPA under 4.0 but not by much. Not a crazy AP course load but scored well on all her AP exams last year. 1480 SAT. Didn’t take ACT. Differentiator IMO were two very unique out of the classroom experiences/contributions one of which was noticed by the UT faculty as well as faculty of a few other universities.
No one knows if there will be a wave today, let’s hope there is at least one more this year.
What determines if you hear back in an early wave or the main one in Jan?
Thank you!
That’s the million dollar question!
No one knows for sure.
When is the big wave in January?
Could you share stats? Was hoping my kiddo would hear for Health & Society but did not. His stats are strong, but outside auto admit. Thanks!
has anyone heard from nursing ?(oos state, in state, or auto admit)
Hi there. Non-auto, in state. 4.1 GPA with a good amount of AP classes. She had a considerable amount of relevant volunteer/work experience (medical clinics, summer internships) and involvement in related organizations.
I don’t think this is true. I know some kids with very high stats and achievements who are still waiting. Last year, some very highly qualified candidates received their majors and large merit awards from UT in late January.
Thanks! They sound pretty similar. Here’s hoping!
I think thumbs up means other people also hope there will be another batch tonight, but I believe this is it for December. In the last few years, there was only one meaningful wave in December and that was yesterday. My son is still waiting, so I am in the same boat with you. But I am not holding my breath for tonight.
Yes - good luck!
Yes, good luck!
Good luck everyone! Would anyone be willing to call admissions and ask??
I agree on the BS of the homeschool autoadmit cutoff. It basically means only the rare homeschooler will be autoadmit, though there is no way that the average ACT score at UT is 36 or SAT 1580. It’s frustrating. In fact, in surveying all the homeschoolers I know, I’ve never met one single one who was accepted at UT for engineering. As a matter of fact, my son also applied to 3 other state schools, and though he was indeed accepted quickly and with lots of merit, not one of them autoadmitted him. I even provided a rank as his school counselor. So…Texas Schools will never autoadmit homeschoolers even with the recent HB 3993 (I think that’s the number). Oh well…upward and onward.
I guess there was no wave tonight. Maybe next week?? Any guesses I know it’s unpredictable maybe before the holidays Monday or Tuesday?!!!
My daughter has 2 friends that just got into McCombs tonight. OOS
