D25, OOS, has the same thing. “Your application is still in review. Thank you for meeting our Early Action deadline. The Office of Admissions is thoroughly reviewing your application for your selected major and we need some additional time. No further action is needed on your part. You can expect to receive your admission decision February 15.”

reasonable I would think, give him another chance for his major, UT auto is nonsense to me.
why doesn’t it just say “you have been deferred” then?

My DS just got the same message as well, deferred until Feb 15. In state, auto, biochem.
Same here. I don’t think it’s a regular deferral. I think it’s a way of saying they had way too many applications to decide by now

I think that would make more sense since auto admits are getting the same thing in their portals
