Some people on R reporting their RIS and WIO are updated. Anyone here?
Yes, mine updated.
Yay! Good luck! My kid is RD because applying CFA which doesn’t do EA but I’m excited for all her friends waiting for today…
My son’s updated. I don’t know if anything was there before, but there are details in the Advisor section including desired major. What I Owe shows $200 enrollment deposit, but he’s an in-state auto-admit so that may be why.
Not getting hopes up until the official announcement later today. GL to all!
Is this in the first MyStatus page? I don’t think I see any changes. OOS applicant.
No, it’s in MyUT
Sounds like a good sign! In state or OOS?
I see $200 deposit. I do not see an advisor or major. TBD if anything means anything!
we see the same for our DD. OOS ECE major
Should be 6 pm ET
Heard from our school counselor that there were more than 100k apps and they are deferring 75% to have more time to read them all
they always defer most applicants in EA. They said they will accept around 3800 this round and 5000 more in RD this year
yes they said the remaining 75% would be released Feb 15
Ugh!!
sorry meant to post this in USC not UT!
I think the zoom meeting counselors sat in on said UT is giving 25% of their acceptances tonight, 75% of the acceptances to go out RD. This is in line with last cycle. They made under 30% of the acceptances (5000) on EA day and the remainder (13000) on RD. When there are as many apps as there are, those numbers seem small.
that’s what I said, no?
Actually they make around 18000 offers in total, 50% yield, 9000 accept. The offers tonight should be around the same 5000 as last cycle and the rest (probably 13000) in February. The class of 2029 was one of the largest ever - 9500.
Yes i saw USC’s post too. For their EA they specifically said 3800 tomorrow and 5000 on RD. I like that they gave real numbers as opposed to 25% of_____ because the ______ is important in knowing what they actually mean. But the example is a good one where a university that gets a similar number of applications defers a ton to RD. Their yield rate is much lower though - meaning most kids who get an acceptance take it. UT’s has hovered at 50% for a very long time.
For those who get in, please post Stats.
