UVA Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@MechEngStudent pick tech!!!

@stevenmw1478 Being an intl student, as well as an Chinese, I think you have way more advantages than I do.

@puncherkid i think the same too. it seems a disadvantage to be international and chinese.

Anyway, I’ve been accepted by another school, the only acceptance out of 7 applications. I guess I have to settle for that.

Shouldn’t be revisiting this thread anymore. Biggest congratulations to all that made it into UVa, and best of luck to those who didn’t (hope you find something for yourself soon!)

@DistantOutlier Which university accepted you?

Also accepted! For future reference, if anyone wants to see my stats, they’re on page two. I had a green check mark very early - early April or so.

If anyone has housing info, please message me! I’m a girl looking for on grounds housing, preferably Bice or Lambeth.

What a day! Congrats to all of those who are accepted!!!

Can someone make a thread for the wait listed folks to talk? Would love to hear the stats I’m up against haha

I made a waitlist thread guysss @hlplsslyhopn http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-virginia/1772930-fall-2015-uva-transfer-waitlist.html?new=1

@puncherkid

Was accepted by Columbia. Best of luck!

What are acceptable reasons for asking for a decision extension? I need time past May 15.

@hedgehog12 Just tell them the exact reason why you need the extension.

@puncherkid Do they often give them? Having until June 1 would make a big difference for me.

@hedgehog12 To be honest I really don’t know. What I recommended was that you call the admissions and figure it out.

Wow, we were fairly similar. I did not get in. I think what hurt me was my lack of Bio classes even for a business major.

Deposit was made, love you all. Really hating this whole find a place to live crap. Anyone know the closest places to live for science majors?

@plsplspls Yeah just thinking about housing meal plans orientation meeting with adviser blah blah makes me feel exhausted… But it’s undoubtedly exciting at the same time!

@hedgehog12 I’d like to hear how this went.

@plsplspls the Brown residential college is at a pretty good location and so is the IRC, although you have to apply and be selected…if i get chosen off the wait list (god willing) I’m prob going to live off grounds because sometimes that’s even more convenient than the on grounds options we have, unless I could still apply to the IRC. The transfer housing is HELLA far away lol.

@hoospls I just hate how for the transfer housing I get my own room but everything is communal. People are ew. I’d honestly want to become friends with someone before I started living with them anyways, no matter transition. If you do get in, let me know (:!

Yea i live in a communal situation now and I am appalled by how everyone is so gross. Next year I’m definitely not sharing a room or a bathroom lol. @plsplspls
