@hedgehog12 although you saw that the majority of people in the last thread who got accepted have close to 4.0’s I would remain confident. Understand that there is only a small group of people who share their stats on CC and get accepted out of the couple thousand that apply. Furthermore, UVA has a very holistic review process which is beneficial if you think your grades are your weak point. Also, I don’t see anything regarding your extracurriculars (though you probably have them). I do not know about them favoring W&M, so I couldn’t give you any advice on that. Just stay confident, you seem like a worthy applicant (:
All of my other schools that I applied to as a transfer have a May 1st deposit deadline for enrollment. Since we won’t hear back from UVA until roughly May 1st, it only makes sense for me to put a deposit down at another school, right? :-/
I would wait and see if UVA tells us early first…it could save you a couple hundred bucks. But once we get closer to the deadline I’d put down a deposit
Also, I was wondering if we were supposed to tell them about awards won in high school? Would it be too late to email them now with significant awards?
got a check mark today…
Still no check mark. Really hoping to get it!
@hedgehog12 I would call uva Monday and just ask if it is too late in the admissions process to add more to your application. I don’t think anyone here could give you a concrete answer.
@tranferyu hahahahaha finally!
@DistantOutlier be patient it will come soon.
@dancer0928 this is something that I have been really conflicted about. This might not be correct but I see two opinions regarding putting down multiple deposits. One being that it is unethical and two being that you may ask your school for a decision extension. I would choose the latter in your case.
Hey everyone,
I transferred into UVA last year. What really helped me to get involved at a new school was living on grounds. However, all the current UVA students get first choice on where they want to live on grounds so the transfers always get stuck in the left over on-grounds housing that’s far away from the classes and night life! I got put into Copeley which is awful so I found someone through College Confidential that had a spot in a better UVA housing option. All you do is email the UVA housing office and they transfer the lease and you get to live in a much better location.
I have a spot open for any male that is interested in living in the Bice apartment for 2015-2016 academic year. Please let me know if you are interested in taking over the lease. Also feel free to ask me any questions you may have about UVA or about transferring here.
Best regards,
Pete
@Pete12 Did you transfer under guaranteed admissions? If not what was your high school GPA like? And do know what the average transfer high school GPA is? I’m applying competitvely, and I’m a little worried since my high school GPA is not a 4.0 and my ACT score was a little low
hey,
I transferred into McIntire (comm school) so there was no guaranteed admission. My high school GPA was 3.7. I don’t know what the average high school GPA is. They did tell us that the longer you’ve been out of high school the less they actually care about your high school GPA.
The near is near, folks! decision should be out this Friday or next. Good luck to y’all
@quanfo What inclines you to believe decisions will be out as early as this Friday? Was there a post I missed on o ne of the blogs?
I still don’t have a check mark
I think that we all need to calm down a little and just not think about it. The decisions will come out soon just wait and be patient. There is nothing you can say or do to make them come out faster. In the mean time go enjoy life
@quanfo lol please don’t give me hope that they will release this Friday!
Hopefully my check mark will at least be released Friday! Haha
It’s speculating on my part that it’s highly likely decisions will be released this Friday because the Admission would want to close out the season by the first week of June for deferrals. Given only 2 weeks for notification/deposit/acceptance by 5/15 if indeed decisions were out on 5/1 was too short for most. There! my reasoning for speculation. Good luck and don’t check SIS until Friday
I check it everyday, pretty sure by the 1st I’ll have my SIS ID tattooed on my forehead

@April16 there are a few people I believe who are applying to McIntire as well (@quanfo @McIntireguy123) I believe they even have a separate forum for commerce transfers for 2015. Given their stats and how highly competitive McIntire is, I would say you have a legitamate chance. But…
If you head to the forum I mentioned a student from 2014 in commerce said that only 25 were accepted which is something like 12%. Given the amount of applicants, anyone who is applying to the school of commerce is facing an uphill battle. You are qualified yes, just wait it out this month and stay confident.
From @Pete12 "Hey everyone,
I transferred into McIntire last fall. They are getting more selective about transfer admissions. This year for my class there were only 25 students admitted (12% of all the applicants). If you have any questions about transferring to McIntire feel free to message me."
