If anyone is no longer interested in UW-Madison, please be respectful and let them know, so someone else could’ve been celebrating today… I’ve just read a few posts where their students were accepted today, but knew that they were no longer interested and wouldn’t be accepting. I can understand a few weeks or a month from now, but they just asked who was still interested a week ago… Sorry for the rant.

Congrats to those who got off the waitlist yesterday! By when do you have to respond? Trying to guess when the next batch of offers will go out…

They have to respond by Friday, May 24th.

Until proven otherwise, that Magic 8 Ball IS magic. Hang onto that.

Did the folks on FB mention a major? So far I’ve only seen engineering and CS. It gives me hope that they might start rolling out more acceptances for other majors/colleges before next Friday.

Me too. My son is business, and I didn’t see or hear of any business majors getting off the list yesterday.

I hope they’re not done with OOS Engineering :frowning:. Though seeing so few people get off yesterday doesn’t give me much hope for the next rounds-perhaps they got very close to their yield goals this year.

I just looked at my son’s letter from Wisconsin. It says it’s highly unlikely that he’ll receive a FA package before the decision date due to FAFSA delays. They recommend using the school’s Net Price Calculator for estimating aid.

More evidence that Madison is way behind for FAFSA and likely dealing with a lot of deadline extensions for EA & RD. I’ll bet a bigger waitlist wave is still coming.

I really do hope you guys are right about the next wave being really big. I didn’t get off, and I’m CS, so I really hope that they give more CS kids an admittance. Maybe they’re rolling it out by state/distance from Wisconsin. Depending on where you’re from, they’ll probably pull you off the following weeks.

It would be helpful to see what states/locations these people are from, since it can at least help to see if location is a factor.

Also, if this isn’t a hard question, does UW Madison use someone’s intended major for L&S to determine if they’ll get off?

I’m looking at some(a lot) of posts on reddit/cc/fb on waitlist removals. Like almost ALL of it seems to be for college of engineering. Very few L&S kids in general(I saw like ~25 posts past few hours across many platforms and 4 were for L&S(2 CS, 1 DS, 1 Zoology major). I think they’re rolling the lists out by school and filling in a few gaps where needed.

Again, that’s just my guess, but more L&S and engineering kids hopefully get off next week.

Edit: another kid who said he got off for applied math in L&S . . . make my count 5 for L&S

What were his stats? My son is CS

Sure. He has a 3.8 UW GPA, 33 ACT, 13 APs, OOS (not Minnesota)

Hello, does anyone know the acceptance rate for CS major kids?

I’m hanging onto anything I can! :crossed_fingers:t2:
