Gluten free food is not too easy at any except Cornell and she “vibed” with the students at Wisconsin (can definitely agree if this thread is the least bit representative) compared competition at some of the other schools. She’s also worried about cost.
As the line in Pretty Woman went, “BIG mistake. BIG mistake!”
Who do they think they are, not admitting her with these stats!! C’mon! She obviously qualified! Wow!
We’re stumped too. But with her medical record she did poorly in a few classes (namely Physics) core to the MechE major that she applied for which likely threw readers off. We hoped that winning tutoring awards and being part of rocketry competition would help to offset it, but maybe we overhyped the effect of those ECs. Good lesson for college though, grades are core
Last Thursday some were let off the waitlist. I’m hoping for tomorrow AND Friday.
Anyone hearing anything?
I haven’t heard or seen anything today
Nothing and unfortunately I think the shipped sailed my son, he registered for classes at his second choice yesterday and has dorm selection next week. It’s crazy - 1410 SAT, 4.2 weighted GPA, etc.
We lived in Wisco until he was in 8th grade and than moved to IL for work (40 min from Wisco border).
We’ll always be Badgers but go Vols for the next 4 years😂
Nothing.
Going by his stats, your son will do well wherever he goes, good luck and congratulations!
Very good stats, what major?
Major is Business, essay we felt was good. Maybe a little light on extra curriculars (leadership activities). Good luck to all tonight…
Nope, no news at all. Really hope they’ll announce business major waitlist asap
Stuff we know as of today:
- The folks who were offered off the WL last Thursday had to commit by 11:59 p.m. yesterday.
- It’s been exactly one week since the final May 31 deadline for EA/RD admits with financial aid offers.
- Wisconsin should now have, for the first time, a complete picture of open spots in their entering class.
- Wisconsin likes to make admit announcements on Thursdays/Fridays around 6:00 p.m. EST
I will try to post the link, but if that doesn’t work, just saw this on my fb feed:
“UW enrollment likely to take a hit this fall following FAFSA delays” and “The latest data shows more than 4,400 fewer Wisconsin seniors have completed the FAFSA form compared to last academic year. That’s a decrease of nearly 14 percent.”
Here is the link to the article.
I get the impression that this is ALL UW schools, not just Madison, but it’s not clear.
Interesting. It seems like all schools would be affected- not just those in Wisconsin. ??
So where’s the serious waitlist movement
Sending best wishes!
anyone hear anything yet?
Nothin’. Me thinks it’s time to move on…mentally.
Same here. Crickets.
