same…wondering if decisions were released yet.
asfaik decisions release from 6-7 PM Central time, not eastern time, since wisconsin runs on central time. I expect them to come around an hour from now if there are any sent out today.
Me!
Still heard nothing today though.
Still awaiting any waitlist decisions.
I’m very disappointed with you right now Wisconsin Admissions!
You’re making all these nice people wait.
still nothing on my end…disappointed as well.
Well, they seem to continually change the playbook, but just anecdotally: my son got off the deferral list last year (not the waitlist, but still…) and he was notified on Friday at 10:53 pm central. So who knows! (Son 2 is hoping to get off the waitlist this round… so I’m in the same boat as everyone here this time around).
Post on Reddit that relates a conversation with a Wisconsin AO. Gives the impression we’re trying too hard to see patterns in offers and that this might be a bad waitlist year.
I hope this is wrong.
Bad for whom??
Bad for people trying to be admitted off the waitlist.
honestly it can go both ways. Yes, it may be that there aren’t as many offers. However, it can also be that there are so many people that they need a bit more time to pick and choose. Both could be possible.
Then again, this could be me coping, but the article telling of decreased enrollment seems legit based on some nationwide trends i’ve seen so far + source based on the head of the school itself, so I really don’t know how this would fare.
The data UWM collected to gauge level of interest from the waitlisted candidates is slowly becoming stale and if they don’t move quickly, they are inviting a lot of extra work for themselves. But, at this point, I am seriously doubting if they have any room left in their classes. Did they pull a 2022/2023 stunt on us hopefuls?
hopefully not
I do think it’s just a slow-moving process. Hopefully.
ATP, I’ve kinda moved on but I am still hoping in the back of my mind that Madison comes through for me.
Exactly same situation here! Hopefully, you are right and we will see some movement soon, especially for you CS kiddos!!
CS or CE, any is welcome
One major just closed the door. Class of 2028 - Virginia Tech - Waitlist Discussion - #218 by kitkatt1
Thats V-Tech . . . it’s yield rate is about the same as Madison, but it far more sought after for CS/CE. . . It’s not truly comparable to Madison in any significant way.
Sorry, you’re saying Virginia Tech is harder to get into for CS/CE and therefore not comparable to UW-Madison, or vice-versa?
no i mean its more sought after (more people at least as far as I know are willing to go to VTech for any CS/CE/Tech in general compared to UW Madison). I am speaking based on what I’ve seen in the industry since more people I’ve seen get hired from V-Tech than UW Madison, and more software engineers recommended V-Tech over Madison. However, that doesn’t mean it’s ‘harder’ or ‘easier’ to get into.
