Another waitlist continued interest form just got sent out

My daughter also received an email this morning asking if she’d like to remain on the waitlist.

Yess got this too

We got one, too. At this point it’s kind of confusing.

There might still be hope if they are asking :expressionless:

They are probably experiencing some summer melt for any number of reasons.

The FAFSA delays/problems aren’t helping either…there are probably OOS students just now realizing that Wisconsin is not going to give them any need based aid (as a general rule OOS students won’t get need based aid from Wisconsin unless they are part of certain college access orgs.)

Good luck to everyone, but hopefully you are excited about the schools you have deposited at for this Fall.

It looks like Wisconsin sent a second continued interest request last year before making more offers. Fingers crossed for everyone!

The timing might explain the weird method of housing assignments. Housing decisions came out last week for some students, but many students (including S24) only received their assigned move-in day but no dorm or roommate assignment.

Wisconsin said the second wave of housing assignments will come out around June 30. Maybe they are holding spaces for anticipated new admits off the waitlist?

Wait, there’s no need’s based aid for out of state students? They told us to use their calculator to get an idea, but didn’t specify it was only if we are in-state. That changes everything.

I defer to the NPC for sure. Banner does meet need for Pell grant OOS students but I have only seen students working with college access org partners get that.

Like many schools I wouldn’t be surprised if Wisconsin is only pulling full pay students from the waitlist.

I hope you all report back here if you get a place off the waitlist! : ) My waitlisted but still hopeful son is heading up into the no-cell-service northwoods as I am typing this. He did get the continued interest notification and was able to respond, but will now have zero service for a few days…! Just curious: was there a deadline mentioned to respond for continued interest? (Just trying to gauge what their timing may be…)

Yes. They said by June 28th

I will absolutely post here right away if we hear anything about the waitlist :crossed_fingers:

Thanks for the info. Do you know how long it took for offers to come after the 2nd continued interest form went out last year?

If we’re this far down the waitlist, I wouldn’t be expecting anything.

Good luck to everyone still interested!!! This is giving me mixed emotions, as we thought UW-Madison had closed the door with no movement for almost a month, and with my son registering for classes, picking his dorm and finding a roommate at VT. He’s fishing in Alaska with his grandparents for a few more days, so probably not going to ask…

I was commenting to my wife this past weekend, that I thought the mention of the 28.7% three-year average made things worse, as why would you mention that, since it doesn’t ā€œfeelā€ like there has been a decent wave of WL offers. Of course, I (we) don’t have the actual data yet, and Reddit, CC, FB or elsewhere aren’t a full sample of offers. But that three year average was pretty much from the 61.4% last year, vs. the 0.3% the two years prior…

Again, hoping for good news for everyone, and not another prolonged heartache!!!

We got it too, did it go to everyone?

It looks like about a week last year (but that was for the end of May). They said most people respond to requests of continued interest within two days, so maybe by this Friday? Wisconsin has to know that it’s running out of time.

my son got it too, I guess it is for everyone, my son got admission from a little lower ranking school with financial aid , if he can get an admission from UW , we will lose a lot money, but we still hope he can get in UW

My daughter decided to decline the continued interest form this time around. She got in to Cal Poly SLO off the waitlist a couple weeks ago and is now fully committed there and thankfully very excited. At one point, Wisconsin was her first choice but she is done waiting and will not wind up a Badger in the end. What a crappy & stressful process. Good luck to all of you still waiting!! Hope it works out for all of these deserving kiddos!!:pray::pray:

If you don’t mind answering, what was her intended major?
