Anyone else holding out hope that we’ll see a wave today?
Public service announcement that might help you be more productive today:
Waitlist offers last year typically came out around 7:00 p.m. EST or later.
Despite this knowledge, I will still check about once an hour.
Every 10-15 minutes on here, as I don’t have access to my students log-in…
check every 30 minutes.
I do not have it either
My son got both a text and an email when they sent the waitlist continued interest form.
So I assume he’ll hear before the portal is updated. That is, IF, we are lucky enough to be communicated about an opening off the waitlist…
Do we think they will start releasing some of the waitlist offers on Monday night?
We don’t know. The biggest wave last year was 4 days after decision day which would point more toward a Monday release. However, Wisconsin likes to release decisions on Fridays.
Anyone want to place bets on tonight or Monday night?
Any predictions that it will come out tonight? What about next Friday?
Also does anyone know about the yield rate this year? Will they accept more people off the waitlist or accept the same amount as 2022?
I bet a grain of rice it will be Monday.
I call, and raise you a shiny Canadian penny on today!!! I’m totally bought in the on the typical Friday release trend…
Such a hard call! This entire time I suspected today would definitely be the day we would start seeing some waitlist movement. Now I’m second guessing that. I’m wondering if they have had enough time to look over their numbers and find the gaps. It’s only been 36 hours since final decisions were due.
My gut feeling is tonight based on nothing except the longer they wait the more comfortable our kiddos will feel about the schools they’ve committed to. Thinking smaller release today or Monday to get things moving followed by a bigger release a week after.
Do we think they will accept a lot of kids off the waitlist this year? Or will it be more like 2022?
i have a feeling that they’re going to accept a decent amount of students, esp oos people since their oos yield prob isn’t too high. i’m from ca and i know a bunch of people who were admitted, but only 1 person whos attending. fingers crossed we all get good news soon!!
Pilate, were your Metrics posted on 3/29 from actual UW-Madison released data?
We don’t know, but I agree with @thelema.
Yield was unusually high in 2022 so they overenrolled and barely used the waitlist. Last year they accepted fewer students (probably to avoid overenrolling) but yield also dropped and they went deep into the waitlist (see earlier posts for more details).
I hope so! Thank you! My daughter is OOS and UW Madison is her top school. Hoping for some positive news soon!
Yep, that post is all actual CDS data from UW-Madison. I had earlier speculated on Fall 2023 data, but then Madison released their Fall 2023 CDS.
