I agree with TXNovaS on wondering how an unweighted can be over 4.0. Anyone know how colleges calculate it for a kid with a 97 out of 100 HS average? I assume that equates to a 4.0 for colleges.
On weighting I think you add 10% for AP courses although some websites say to add .5 to the course on a 4.0 scale.
Also, since most colleges don’t use chorus, gym, etc in calculating an applicants gpa the AP score “bump” would be more impactful since it will be less watered down by fewer non-AP courses being included.
I think most colleges just say that a 4.0 is straight As. There may be some high schools that are counting A+s as above a 4.0. My kids’ high school doesn’t even give A+s.
Did unpublished biomolecular research, founder and president of Biology Club, President of Chemistry club, shadow experience with top radiologist, detailing business with $2100 monthly prof, worked with a cat rescue for the past 4 years to save abandoned kittens, caretaker for my grandfather with frontotemporal dementia, Vice President of Politics club, Founder and captain of 2 indoor soccer teams (MVP in 2020), paid work at a contracting business during the summer moving hay bales.
My daughter was admitted EA last year. I believe there was .pdf or hyperlink in application portal page with the financial aid package. Possible Financial aid tab. It was also hard copy mailed to home 1-2 weeks later.
Our initial need based aid was noticeably lower than NPC projections. We did appeal and were fortunately granted some additional aid which helped in her final decision to accept/enroll.
Does anyone know what time they decisions are likely to come out? I know they said evening on their Instagram but I was just curious if anyone knew a more specific time.
