Yes because they dont even read the common app main essay
They should have kept the Early Decision. The process this year has been grueling to say the least.
Tech always has those 4 small horrible essay prompts. Historically they have not taken letters of rec or read the Common App essay. They go by their 4 prompts, transcripts, ECs and test scores (if sent)
.
how so? What button?
I got in today OOS for accounting information systems
what button, what does that mean and what is the prediction? This is confusing.
Read the Clemson board.
my son also applied the last day and was accepted today. Business major
I spoke to admissions yesterday regarding the UTX - STAR issue to ensure all was ok here. The nice man on the phone informed me that my child was just about ready to go through the review process. All was good on his end. His app was in early Oct. So… Just getting to him now. I’m sure each college pulled their top GPAs and made some early decisions to release. I agree with the thought above, let people know now before they commit elsewhere.
silly question, but who is actually committing anywhere right now? Don’t most people wait until spring to make a final decision?
I would think so! Unless ED, right? I do think kids start to commit in their heads. I can see it happening. Us parents need to bring them back to reality sometimes to look at the financials, etc… It’s all good.
My daughter committed already.
Accepted! Pleasant surprise to get it so early, liberal arts major, 4.0 UW, 4.8 WGPA, 31 ACT, 10 APs.
If Tech were to provide an acceptance tomorrow for my son, we would absolutely commit on the spot. Its why Im so frustrated they got rid of ED. It was not a good feeling yesterday seeing a surprise release and him not being on it. The FAQ they supplied almost implied a rolling decision release with random releases as they are ready. They have handled this poorly and when its all said and done, I will most likely write a letter stating so as an alumni even if my son is admitted. They need to understand the implications of this process change.
where to?
I’ve seen your posts in other forums so I know your son has similar stats to my daughter’s. Just wondering if he submitted scores or went TO to VT? My daughter insisted on going TO…she has a 1380…now I’m worried she won’t get in bc of it. Ugh.
This was meant to reply to SoCal…not sure why it didn’t show as a reply
FWIW, DS applied TO and got in.
Good news. Thank you!!
my son submitted his score (SAT 1400). He also worked pretty hard on the essays. Not sure how important that was in their decision.
