We have no way to know if or when BU will go to the waitlist at this point. It all depends how many admitted students enroll and how enrollments are trending towards the target class size.
has anyone heard abt people getting off the ucla waitlist yet? I heard uc Irvine and ucsc have released some people form theirs.
Our college counselor indicated that UCLA is typically behind other UCâs in terms of pulling from their waitlist. I wasnât aware that UCSC had pulled from their WL.
I saw posts today indicating both BU and BC have gone to their waitlists. Lots of other schools too. Check the threads in each schoolâs forum.
Has anyone heard about the WashU waitlist?

Compared to last year, how is the waitlist stuff going?
I know two people who were pulled from UCLA last year and both were in late July. Long after other waitlists movement.
I have only seen UCI pull from the waitlist but then again I do not follow all social media sites.
There was a computer glitch that falsely stated students were admitted from the waitlist for several UCâs including UCSC but that was resolved.
Piggybacking on this question. Is there a max number of kids @WashU will take from one high school?
We have multiple this season, so my guess is there is no particular rule.
My friendâs son was notified today that he was offered a spot off the waitlist for U of TN.
Right when I finished typing that question, my son received an email of acceptance from @WashU! Go, Bears!
My friend got off of the Davidson and William and Mary waitlist this week.
My son got off the waitlist at Clemson for Summer start this week.
I know people who got off middleburry and Vanderbilt
Is it unusual to hear about so much early waitlist movement. So many schools right at May 1 dipping in hard. Was yield management overboard?
It certainly does seem early, maybe the financial aid has added to the mess. Letâs hope itâs promising for those of us on waitlists!
Agree that it seems early. A few schools have come up as pulling from WL that in some years donât use it at all.
My opinion is that it all stems from the explosion in applications students are submitting. Schools need to guess more than ever what kids are really their âtargetâ. Unfortunately over time this may result in more schools relying more heavily on ED rounds since those kids are the sure-thing. Time will tell.
It may be some schools purposely under accepted because they got in trouble in the past - and they took the cautious route.
And if theyâre going via the WL now, theyâre smart knowing the yield on WL (later) is likely lower than a regular admit. A WL now keeps them in the game.
In the end, the # of students hasnât gone up overall - so the field is still the field.
The other thing is - perhaps the rankings have hit in some measure some of the schools that drastically fell.
