@Sound6 , my DD applied RD for 2023 and wasn’t notified until late March, by regular mail, and later On portal.
I just received an acceptance!! Almost 8 weeks wait so don’t lose hope! Since I know everyone wants to know my stats:
Live in low country of SC
Submitted: 10/9

Interviewed in June

I applied late October and was deferred. Has anyone else been deferred? What are the chances I get in?
I submitted everything on 11/15 does anyone have clues that when will I receive my result?? I’m just feeling stressed cuz I don’t have amazing stats and didn’t submit my SAT score:( and I have to start planning for my ED2 in case if Wake rejected me
what were your stats?
3.6uw and 4.18 w I know they are terrible compared to Wake’s average. However, my extracurricular activities are decent, but i don’t know if activities matter to Wake. I had created a business selling a patented product(i designed the product) on Amazon and Walmart. Also I had many leadership positions(ASB and clubs) and volunteered throughout high school. I worked 250+hrs in a year and that got me a president’s volunteer service gold award. Btw I didn’t get an interview …so I guess I’m pretty much done
I was wondering, since my friends are starting to get ready to hear back from their ED schools this week, if there is a date Wake needs to notify its ED applicants by even though it is rolling?
Hi everyone, I also applied to WFU this year for ED, but I submitted all my material pretty late (11/15, all the document received on 11/24, interview done on 12/04). How do you guys heard back from WFU, mail or portal ??? One of my friend who applied to WFU told me that she received an email from DHL telling her that WFU sent her something. I heard nothing back so far, am I going to be rejected or deferred ?

@hopefullyacollegeoneday I doesn’t mean automatic rejection, they saw something in you and wanted to keep you as a prospective candidate. I would recommend strengthening your application somehow and don’t lose hope!
@2020senior751 deferment doesn’t mean automatic rejection in RD, of course, but some schools do defer all kids who they don’t accept. I don’t know what Wake’s policy is. I have a friend whose daughter was deferred from Michigan and Yale. They defer all or almost all students they don’t take and this student was NO way going to get into either of those schools with her 25 ACT and below average GPA. Bottom line is that deferment could mean they honestly just want to compare you to the RD kids. It could also just be that a school’s policy is to defer all who they don’t accept.
@homerdog I spoke with a former admission officer at Wake. They informed that most of Wake’s deffered students tend to get accepted. So I hope that they hold to that this year, I would also like to know if anyone got rejected from ED at wake.
Deferred Thursday. I have no idea why but i’m really heartbroken because i couldnt imagine myself at any other college besides Wake.
State: Indiana (very underrepresented state)
Didn’t submit my SATS
GPA (weighted): 4.0237
APs: 7 overall, 6 my senior year (AP US History, AP Literature, AP Psych, AP French, AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP Biology) nobody takes APs at my school and wasn’t able to take them till my senior year
Submitted very late: 11/15
Interviewed in September and i thought it went well.
I thought my supplemental essays were some of the best essays i’ve ever written.
My common app essay is about being the daughter of a severe alcoholic and how i am not ashamed because it has shaped me into the person i am today. Specifically, how i want to be a doctor.
Miss America Competitor: 2nd Runner up to Miss Indiana
Volunteer Disney princess where i visit sick children and i’ve accumulated 100+ hours.

Varsity Cheerleader for 3 years, co-captain my senior year
Vice President of NHS

Vice President of French Club
Hospital Volunteer for 40+ hours
Soooo basically, i don’t know where i went wrong
To anyone who was deferred recently, do not fret there is still a possibility that you may still get into Wake Forest. I was deferred last year and I was an ED applicant but I was later accepted(an accidental email was sent out last year a month early stating I was invited to accepted students day). I lost hope that I wasn’t going to get in yet I received that email so the surprise was over for me when I was officially accepted a month later. Regardless, you still have the possibility to get into Wake Forest as the admissions office still sees you as a viable candidate; if they didn’t, you would have been rejected. Something else for thought as a current student at Wake Forest, the Wake you see on the outside as a applicant is radically different from what is inside “the forest” but that’s for anyone who chooses to attend to find out for themselves.
Also I did not send in my scores when I applied.
@Clethos huh? Why would it be radically different? Why would the school want kids to think it’s one thing and then be “different” after enrollment? I doubt that’s true. Feel free to elaborate.
Who did you interview with?
