Did you see the scene from next week (I think it was shown on Talking Dead) with Carol and Daryl throwing a sheet-wrapped body onto a fire outside a tall white building? Was it the hospital? WAS IT BETH?!

I only get to see this show when it comes out on netflix. If someone wanted to do an episode recap, I’d be interested and grateful. Just reading along here has been a pretty good way to keep up. It is just as good as seeing the real thing, as far as I’m concerned. DeborahT is having us over for coffee if you want to tell me there so I don’t interrupt this thread. Or mess up others enjoyment by soliciting spoilers. I love spoilers. I’ve even started sometimes reading the last chapter of books, first.

Eugene, Abraham, Glen: not sure ai remember who they are and definitely don’t remember the church. I skipped around in some of the seasons.

OMG, Madison - I didn’t catch that! I’ve been so worried about Carol that I forgot to worry about Beth!!

I think Abraham’s cut hand got some zombie blood on it and he will turn at some point.

Can blood on the cut do it? I thought you had to be bit- but I could be wrong.

I thought Eugene was a fraud all along. Don’t know why. Abraham gives me the creeps.

Eugene has been disappointing as a character all along. Even if the big reveal was always going to be that he’s not a scientist with a clue to a cure, they could have given him a role as a very smart guy who makes contributions to problem solving (I’m thinking of Breaking Bad’s ordinary chemistry teacher turned MacGyver…“Use science, Mr. White!”) or had him be the mastermind behind the strategy that tricks the Terminos in the church. Instead he’s been just kind of a bore…maybe the worm is turning though.

Haven’t seen the preview on Talking Dead yet. Would they dispatch Beth without the audience-pleasing moment of letting the two sisters reunite?

Maggie hasn’t seemed too upset about her missing sister. She has been more interested in her boyfriend.

I would like to see more about Glen. He was such a good character early on, and has been crowded out by the new folks the last few seasons.

^^ Exactly! Maggie hasn’t said a word about her sister this season - even last night, when she was talking to Glenn about this wonderful future they’ll have in D.C., she did not say a word about Beth, even though she did talk about reuniting with Rick and the others. I found it very strange…

I actually liked Eugene’s character: a nerdy loner with little social acumen and very few zombie-killing skills. Given those shortcomings, he’s survived by doing what many of us would do - by lying. Everyone thinks they’d be some bad-a** assassin like Michonne or Daryl, but in reality, wouldn’t a lot of us be more like Eugene? Maybe we wouldn’t lie and maybe we’d be more socially adept (and maybe we wouldn’t have that HAIR), but a lot of us would be stumbling along clumsily, just one misstep away from being zombie food.

It’s kind of like this whole season is subtitled, “What would you do to survive?” Would you eat other people? Would you lie about who you are? Would you kill a baby? And so on…

@jazzymom The flashback store with the bodies - Abraham killed those guys from his group because they raped his wife and young daughter when he was out (on a supply run, I think).

Just now heard that on Talking Dead. So I also just saw the preview with the shrouded body being laid in the fire. I agree that it’s a “Beth-sized” body and that in the past they have tried to bury their own dead so burning would be the alternative in that location…so it could be her. But it seems to me they are a little too calm about it and the fact that Carol says “thanks” makes me wonder if it’s someone that Carol got close to or feels indebted to from the hospital group rather than Beth.

Hard to say from that clip who is in the sheet. It was Beth sized, and it would be like the show to let us get close to her and like her and then kill her.

Maybe a child? A child we haven’t met yet? Carol bonds with children well. Maybe Carol and Daryl meet up with a group of children?

Here’s the scariest thing about “Walking Dead” right now - THERE ARE ONLY 3 EPISODES LEFT IN 2014! :((

And so much to wrap up in the last three…

After that, all we have is rampant speculation. For example, saw something on roamersandlurkers.com which got my attention: Carol becomes the new boss at Grady Memorial…her “thanks” to Daryl is for helping to clear the bodies after the fight to take over. Maybe they all end up at the hospital with its farm-to-table guinea pig cuisine for a few episodes…

So it looks like the small sheet-wrapped body was just a child-walker from the domestic abuse shelter and not Beth?

^^ That’s what I thought, too. Wasn’t it kind of Daryl to take care of those walkers - the mother and child - so that Carol wouldn’t have to? Noting says true love like disposing of zombies for your sweetheart…

Did I miss an edisode? I didn’t watch last Thursday, and went to watch On Demand last night. The last one showing On Demand was when the guy said he didn’t know how to save the world? I thought maybe they skipped a week.

Conmama, you’re missing the episode that debuted last night. The episode with Eugene was from November 9th; the episode that debuted last night follows Carol and Daryl as they’re searching for Beth. Maybe it’s not On Demand yet.

I thought the show was kind of slow this week. Sometimes it seems like a whole bunch of stuff happens. But this week I feel like I could have got up a number of times and not really missed anything important.

That solves the question of whether Carol’s injury was just a ruse. Based on the preview shown during Talking Dead, I think there’s a chance Carol doesn’t make it out of this season. Or maybe Beth drives a bargain with Dawn to keep her alive.

What Daryl did for Carol with the zombie mom and child was very sweet.

There should have been dialog between Daryl and Noah as they were driving out of the city…wouldn’t D. have been asking a million questions about Beth? Maybe they’re saving that for the next episode.

I hope Maggie and Glen reunite with Rick’s group in time to take on the hospital group and rescue Beth.

What’s the calculation for how far Grady Memorial is from the church by car? Two hours? Less than that?

I agree, MichiganGeorgia - I thought it was kind of draggy (and I say this as one who loves both Carol and Daryl AND who loves their relationship), especially in comparison to all the other episodes this season. Seems to me that it spent a lot of screen time just getting us back to the point where Daryl stepped out of the woods in episode 2 (?) of this season.

At least we now know it’s Noah in the woods with Daryl…

cross-posted with jazzymom - yes, let’s hope Maggie can help rescue her sister, since she hasn’t even mentioned Beth this season!!
